Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Just following on from the thread created by trenddy996. ( https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...il-lights.html ) My tail lights have finally arrived and I fitted them on the weekend. I went with the Red Crystal & Clear combination...there are also various smoke coloured variants. All in all I would say that the finish and quality is at least as good as the standard 996 tail lights. Whether they are better or worse than original is your choice, but I am just saying the quality and feel looks great. In my opinion they give the rear of the car a bit of a fresher look. I feel that the standard lights are one of the only aspects of the 996 that looks dated, so overall I am happy with them. Love them or hate them, I have made this thread just so that you can see what they look like on an actual car - because the ones in the various sale listings on the net look photoshopped. These pics were just taken with my iPhone - I will get around to uploading some hi-res pics when I have a bit of time this week...and will clean the car too I am happy. They really look great illuminated and especially at night whether they are on, or off while the car is parked. Looks much fresher. LED indicators look great as well. My 2 cents - buy them. Enjoy

POST 2Original post

looks great 100% better imo. how much were they if you dint mind me asking, and from where?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! I got them from this link: http://www.pitlane.bg/dectane-led-ta...stal-p45996-en At the time, this was the cheapest place I could find on the net that looked reputable. I could also select the currency I wanted the transaction to be done in which was a plus. The guys there are great communicators and the only downside was that based on their location, they had to ship the lights to Germany first, where they were then forwarded to me in Australia. This may apply to other regions. It took 4 weeks for them to arrive....but I was away for most of that time so it didnt worry me too much.

POST 4Original post

wow, they do look much better then the reg. led light & the rear does looked more updated...hmmm....I may pick up a set...

POST 5Original post

Hi, looks Great, did you know if are available for a 2000 carera narrow body. Thanks

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 3496409

Quote: Howdy - yes I am pretty sure that they are for any year 996 narrow body. You'd be able to find out from the supplier pretty easily to confirm before you placed your order (probably says year compatibility in the description)

POST 9Original post

Off-topic Adelaide1981. Which wing is it on your car?

Quote: Hey there - it is the factory aero kit (front/rear/sides)

POST 11Original post

Looks great..i'd also like to see this on a C4s due to the darker strip that runs accross might not match very well in terms of tint/smoke and color of red portions..

POST 13Original post

Wow, the Dectane lights look really nice. Better than the other Led lights IMHO!

POST 14Original post

I honestly can't decide which ones I like better, the Dectanes or the other LED tails. I would imagine the Dectanes are better made and probably more plug and play than the others. I'd love to hear from someone who's had both.

POST 15Original post

Wow, those look awesome, now you've got me on the hunt for a pair of those too. Thanks for posting pics!

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 3501554

Quote: If it helps, I bought the LEDs that have been for sale for years....I got the smoked version because I thought it looked most like the original colour. In all honesty they look crap in the flesh compared with these new ones. The new ones are obviously meant to be similar to 997 styled lights....so there is some Porsche suited styling involved in them. The other ones just looked so generic and cheap that I honestly took them straight back out and sold them on eBay for 80 bucks less than I paid. I have had a lot of local comments from people since installing these lights...they look so great in the flesh....you definitely should grab these instead of the other ones.

POST 17Original post

Looks great especially with the black car. I am also looking to purchase a pair of these but I am not sure whether to get the red/crystal, red/smoke, or smoke. I have a silver 996, any suggestions on what you think would look better? also any thoughts on the LED headlights on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-04-PORSCH...0fa3dc&vxp=mtr You Tube You Tube

POST 20Original post

Yeah, I wonder why the aftermarket lighting is less prevalent for the wide-bodies. Surely it is not only because of the center red strip between the tails. Oh well, as much as I like the modern look, the classic styling still turns heads.

POST 21Original post

Those look fantastic. I am hating hard right now. 996WB has no LED choices, 996NB now has two.

POST 22Original post

I think it's just production numbers vs. narrow body cars. Even when you combine turbo and C4S cars, the opportunity for a company to make and sell these lights is limited compared to narrow body cars.

POST 23Original post

adelaide1981- The Dectanes lights look awesome, they look better than stock or other LEDS.I want to order but a month from Germany and +600.00 shipped seems a bit steep. anyone know of a US supplier? or a group buy? I have a 99 C2 Cab.

POST 24Original post

Im in on a group buy!! Im changing the rear bumper and wing... these will be the PERFECT set of lenses to complete the job! putting the old ones on scares the hell out of me.

POST 25Original post

Adelaide, Love the new lights and am looking at buying a set. I have the same wing though and don't want the third brake light to be incongruous with the new lights. Do you have LED bulbs in the wing as well? If so, can you tell me where you got them? Thanks in advance.

POST 26Original post

Quote: Hi 99 996......is your wing factory Porsche or aftermarket? Mine is factory Porsche and the stop lights are factory LED in the rear wing. It all looks perfect together.... Let me know if you need pics or a vid or something

POST 27Original post

Adelaide, Nice call! My wing is factory installed. I just checked, and it does have LED lights in it already. One less issue to deal with! As previously mentioned, I would be interested in a group buy.

POST 28Original post

trenddy996, Love how the headlights look. Do the lightbeams themselves look like high quality factory light or more of the cheap over the top teenage kid aftermarket, burn out your retina lights? If they aren't too conspicuous, I'd definitely be interested. My other concern with all these LED modules is what to do when one if the LED bulbs burns out. Can they be disassembled so that a single light can be replaced or do you have to buy entire new units?

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 3512622

Quote: Hey I think that your headlights look good. Given how clear they are, and the fact that the 997 tails are clear, I would go with the red/clear rears like what I got. If you want anything smoked just go for the option of the smoked reverse light area. I think if the tails are completely smoked they may look a bit average. Whatever you get I think you will be happy...but after not much deliberation I went with the clear and it was a great decision. I love looking at the 996 from the rear again!

POST 30Original post

I just installed the other LED tails but I like these better. If anyone is interested in mine they are brand new and work fine. I'll make you a deal, I'm ordering these.

POST 32Original post

Quotes source post: 3496339

Quote: THANKS! I too thought the carlightpro price was a little high, but I didn't want to wait for a group buy. I saw this price from Pitlane in an earlier thread, but I was afraid to pull the trigger from an overseas shop. After your post confirmed their reliability, I immediately ordered a set. 1 month process for the US too. Thanks for pulling the trigger and letting us know about it! Saved about $250.

POST 33Original post

really liking the tail lights really not liking the headlights, looks really tacky imo, looks like someone added something they bought at autozone for $29.99

POST 34Original post

Quote: +1 on the tail light..... not feeling the headlights as well, too many LED's going on in that area

POST 35Original post

What a great response from Pitlane. Thank you for the detalis. Proactively explaining shipping delay's is truly a class act and only hope that other vendors follow suit. I currently have an order pending that has recently been updated on the DHL website. I'm confident that your processes are not only fair in price, but also have the best care for our parts being delivered over seas. The worth thing to happen is to have a shipment delivered broken causing headaches with returns and such. I cant wait to get my hands on my order! I feel like a kid at Christmas time!

POST 36Original post

Has anyone had to pay any duty fees since it's coming from overseas and the declared value of the package is above a certain amount?

POST 37Original post

IHi guys, I emailed pitlane where it looks like some of you already got your lights, and they are interested in doing a group buy. Anyone know what the process is for getting a group buy going?

POST 38Original post

^^ Im down for a group buy. Normally u ask the vendor price for x amount, and price if u can get over a certain amount of sales

POST 42Original post

I'm in as well. I have the older style LED's and I agree that these new ones look way better!

POST 43Original post

Pitlane, that makes 6 orders so far. How many do you need for a group buy? And the price? Thanks.
