Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

 • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

that 3 series bimmers feel like chevy impalas in comparison. for me there is no substitute! my only regret is that i let about 15yrs lapse without a porsche while my kids were growing up thank god they were worth the sacrifice

POST 2Original post

Trust me, you didn't want a Porsche in your garage with teenagers in the house, male or female. But now try out a new LS430, not for a direct comparison, but yet another PERFECT execution of the automotive art form.

POST 3Original post

Take the 996 out to the track or time or two and really make other cars look bad. Or better still follow up a track day in 996 with onn in a normal car

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

westy i was also haunted by the thoughts of the interaction between a teenager and a porsche. i owned an ls 400 in 1990--nice car but boring in the end. i prefer a current s class mercedes in large sedans but nothing really compares to our porsches!

POST 6Original post

A Lexus 430 as automotive perfection.. I checked the calender and April fools day is not even close. Perfection of what ? A Cadilac ? Your living room on wheels? Come on. Stale styling and a car that would make my grandfather happy is not automotive perfection. Perry

POST 7Original post

Upper darby, Clifton Heights, Westbrook Park, Aldan. Was there in 52, again in 55, and off and on 58 to 60. Maybe I AM your grandfather.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

westy the lexus ls430 is the most reliable car with the best available sound system on the planet but perfection requires a bit more excitement like a porsche!!

POST 9Original post

The LS430 ? perfectly boring IMHO but still it's great at what's it supposed to do

POST 10Original post

i find its a good idea every so often to get in a small 1/1.5 litre super mini (as they called in europe) in order to bring you down to earth and in order to appreciate what you have both mechanically and quality wise in the pcar - i reg switch cars and drive my brothers ford ka/mother in laws 10 year old clio. i come out a more appreciative porsche owner

POST 11Original post

Perfection defined... If only my wife are traveling then the 996 is our choice. Or maybe even a young grandchild or two. If there is a third or maybe even a fourth party involved then the drive becomes a "visit" and even were the space available in the 996 I wouldn't chose it.

POST 12Original post

Funny, I've been driving my wife's LS430 this week while my Turbo is getting some stereo equipment installed. The car is very comfortable and full of gadgets (with the ultimate luxury package). A/C works great too. But I find myself trying to dart in and out of traffic like I would do in the Porsche and it feels like I'm driving a boat. And when you floor it it has an unacceptably long lag before it takes off.
