Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I’ve checked Rennlist, Pelican Parts & Clark’s Garage and there seems to be a variety of answers, but not as high as his 2500 rpm:

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went to Lakeside yesterday, to watch. Met a mature gentlemen in driving an Alvin open wheeler. Found out he also had a 1988 944S, exactly the same as mine. He asked if I knew about a fix for a high idle when WARM . He said it was 2500rpm! When cold it started normally and idled at correct rpm. I suggested places on line he could check to get an answer. He said he was not on-line and not into “technology”. So I volunteered to find a answer and call him back. He gave me his landline number. I’ve checked Rennlist, Pelican Parts & Clark’s Garage and there seems to be a variety of answers, but not as high as his 2500 rpm: vacuum leak ICV sticking TPS Has anyone had similar issues? Is there some testing that needs to be done to isolate the issue? Any assistance would be much appreciated.

POST 3Original post

My a/c 911 does it. Been told it's probably vacuum leak somewhere. Should sort that out one day 🙄
