Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

From the 911uk site but the more the merrier I'd say. Also looking for a 918/CGT or two to turn up as a nice cherry for the cake? Anyone interested? Already have 42 cars http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=97711&postday... Date: First week of March Venue: Top Gear Test Track - Dunsfold air strip Surrey (where the middle classes call it 'sorrey' Price: £295 per car. Each car can have 1 passenger who can also drive. Therefore the price is per car, not per driver. Sadly no spectators (other than the passenger) allowed. No admittance on the day. Calling GTR Nick. Where are you mate?! Thought this would be right up you and your beasts street.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any more PHers up for this? Are there not CGT guys on this forum?

POST 4Original post

Happy to see how quick the double century C4 is good for!

POST 5Original post

Ooof, sounds fun but £300 seems a bit steep, or is that the going rate for a Vmax event?

POST 7Original post

Is this something that happens often or a once a year situation?

Imagine the shame of Porsches latest and greatest GT3 having its doors blown off by 993, 996 and 997. Penny pinching over £395? Really?!

Not any old crap can run I actually think when I saw the price it just made realise I dont have any desire to try and max out my car and would be better spending it on 3 trackdays. I would have much preferred to drive just the Top gear track instead. Does any organiser offer this?

Don't quote me on this but I think theres a bit more to the day than just the runway! What track days are you going on? Brands GP and Silverstone GP with a decent operator are circa £400

POST 19Original post

I dont mind spending that for those tracks. I live 10 mins from Oulton Park and can get on for £130 most of the time

POST 21Original post

£395 to drive in a straight line?! You can take the tunnel, stop for moules and frites in Bruges, buy your other half £100 worth of chocolates, drive on the autobahn, spend the night in Hamburg, drink a load of beer and curry wurst, do another trip on the autobahn, visit Reims and get home with money left. Yeah...

Haven't done VMax in a few years but that does seem a hell of alot more than it used to cost...

IMIA said: just a good track day Oh OK, thank you I wondered about Bedford because the DB level is 101 and Im running a bypass exhaust. Oulton was 105 last weekend and I didnt have any issues but id hate to be restricted having made the trek down there. It was funny at Oulton because the sound guy asks me what does it red line at and as soon as I said 9000 I realised I could of said anything as he probably doesn't hear 9000 much and now he wanted me at 75% of that for the test. Oh well, I hit the accelerator and the rev limiter stopped it at 4k rpm LOL

If you do get too close you soon know where the sound sensors are and short shift near them. For £130 it's an affordable track day and well organised with long run off areas in most places. Marshals and staff are super friendly. It's a good track for slightly quicker cars like yours as is their west circuit

Oh well, I hit the accelerator and the rev limiter stopped it at 4k rpm LOL Thats good news as i was wondering about noise levels with the sharkwerks as its quite loud at full chat although i believe Oulton to have a fairly noise friendly attitude...... Bedford are really anal with noise but they used to be pretty good track days allowing controlled drifting etc but the last time i went (2012) the track had loads of debris on it and i thought the surface wasn't in great condition, to top it off they have stopped the fun factor when out on track.... Said i would never spend my money there again! Silverstone and Spa are for me Edited by Scott Parker on Friday 20th February 19:29

Would be useful to amend the original post to show £395, rather than £295.

Drive by on the SEN circuit is fine though.
