I know this might sound silly, but I found a
2007 Cayman S
that has a lot of things that I want, only 49k miles, black exterior, 18inch wheels (i dont want anything bigger), etc. It doesn't have the
bose system
which would be nice, but other than that the only hangup I have is that its beige interior. It bothered me a lot more at first when looking online, and I haven't seen the car in person (i should see it today or tomorrow), so that might have an effect, but is there anything reasonable I can do to tone down the overwhelming beige appearance? Like swapping in black or gray floor mats, are there any after market seat covers that don't look like crap? I don't need to cover every surface, but just a couple to break up the beige.
I know, i know, i should probably wait for the right car, but for the price it's listed and every other spec, I am trying to tell myself not to be too picky.
Beige and black pair well together. Beige and the stone grey interior, not so much.
I'd do black floor mats, maybe black shiftknob and emergency brake parts? You could easily have trim pieces painted if you wanted to go that far.
Suncoast
had OEM floor mats for $35 new, not so long ago. Unfortunately, now they are $90:

I got a grey pair for my car when they were cheap.
Those and the rear trunk liner carpet would tone the beige down a lot. I really like the beige and black look, but there should be some contrasts.
I’m not a fan of monochromatic interiors,either. My 07
Cayman
had the Stone Gray interior, but had black deviating carpet which broke it up nicely. Maybe just start with the floor mats like you mentioned, and move up to the carpet if it isn’t enough. Seat covers haven’t worked for me.

Good thoughts, I realized after posting that the car does have black floor mats for the seats, they were just in the trunk in the pictures. Black shift knob/ebrake handle would be great accents, nice thinking!
This may sound drastic, but it is really easy and holds up well. There are products for restoring and refinishing leather and vinyl. You prep the surface and then just "paint" on the product. I've used both Color-Plus and Leatherique. The dash especially is better black than beige. If you like a retro look, Coco Mats work well also.
Plus 1 for cocomats in black with tan dot.
I had an 07 CS some years back and I put in chocolate brown floor mats. Personally I loved the look of that interior!
