Just to clarify, when you said "never worked to open doors", do you mean via key remote or by using key in lock?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good morning fellow Boxsters Since I bought my Boxster the keys never worked to open or close the doors, The question I have is why is it every time I open my car with the key it only gives me like 15 seconds to put the key in the ignition or the alarm goes off, how do I stop that? I meant the fob part never worked but actually key part did Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

POST 4Original post

Only way to stop it is to get a new key and have it programmed. I've done the 15 sec thing for years, the switch is right by the door... no prob.
