I see lots of discussion on upgrading a regular mirror to an auto dimming mirror (which I already have) but nothing on replacing a broken one.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all. I am looking for info on replacing my rearview mirror. I see lots of discussion on upgrading a regular mirror to an auto dimming mirror (which I already have) but nothing on replacing a broken one. The problem is that the ring on the rear of the mirror, where the ball head sits, shattered into several pieces?? So now my mirror is hanging from the wire going into the back. Are there any replacement parts I can get to fix this? and are there any "upgrade" options (compass, etc) that will fit the mount. Thanks for the help!
