Does anyone know how to remove he entire interior air vent assemblies from the dash?
Thanks in advance.
hi beach987, did you ever figure out how to remove the vents? A piece of mine broke off and I need to take the vent out to fix it...
thanks.
Jeff
It's not an easy job. I think you need to dismantle the entire front dash board.
Came across this thread in a search. The little fork that attaches to the back of the slider in my passenger side center came adrift--now, I can move the vertical vanes inside from side to side, but I cannot move horizontal vanes that sit behind up and down.
Looks like it would be an easy fix once you got the dashboard trim off, but I've got no idea how to do that. Anyone run into this problem?
If you are talking about the vertical piece that connects the slats, and it has not fallen off completely, take a paperclip, straigten it out, then put a little hook on one end and fish it back in place. Have a lot of patience (I think it took me almost an hour when I knocked it off cleaning out the vents) and be careful not to scratch the slats with the paperclip. You have to line up all the slats, so you may need a tooth pick or something similar to help with that.
Good luck.
A small piece of insulated wire may work too.............
I have a serious need to replace the two front center vents (the previous owner somehow broke a chunk of plastic off the bottom edge of both of them) has anyone figured out how to remove them?

I removed the driver side vent today. There is a springy plastic clip on the inside top that you press up on and 4 clips on the bottom inside. The plastic two in front have to be lifted up, I used two picks to lift them, and two metal clips behind which need to be lifted as well. After pressing the upper clip and lifting the two front lower clips I was able to pull it forward just a bit. I then used the picks to lift on the two rear lower clips and the vent came out. I removed the trim piece underneath the vent and the the two trim pieces on the end of the dash to gain access to the wire disconnect under the dash.
