Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Use cr as dd, very view limitations' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'latter group is less interested in significant modifications' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend gmg roll bar' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I suspect the latter group is less interested in significant modifications to their cars, and may be more aware of issues like access to the hatch, rear vision compromises, etc.

I understand they have pretty strict testing but I've never looked into what they test
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking to add a good roll bar or full roll cage to my 2012
Cayman
R.
I have started to make a list of all the options I can find.
Please add to this list if there are other brands / products I have missed.
If you have any recommendations on the 'most trusted', 'highest quality' and 'proven' roll bar products, your opinion would be much appreciated.
GMG Roll Bar for
Cayman
Bodymotion Roll Bar
BGB Motorsports Roll Bar + Full Roll Cage
FVD (Heigo) Clubsport Bar + Full Roll Cage
Any others?
I have the Bodymotion Roll Bar. I am pleased with the quality and think it looks better than some of the others. If I was buying today for my CS (a full track car) I would go with the BGB full cage. I may change early
next
year.
Thanks for starting this thread. This is not a new topic, but I hope
Cayman
owners with roll bars will contribute.
I'm especially interested in those who have dedicated track cars, and those (like me) who want to be able to keep theirs as DD's. I suspect the latter group is less interested in significant modifications to their cars, and may be more aware of issues like access to the hatch, rear vision compromises, etc.
There's a rollbar in my future, so I appreciate any input.

I have the Heigo in my DD / track toy. I think that it is a good bar for a street car. Minimal interference with seats and access to the engine compartment. pretty easy to mount as well
I got my roll bar from one of this sites sponsors.

All of the roll bars look good. I asked a couple of professional race teams for their opinion on the best bar.
Most of them are recommending the GMG Roll Bar for the
Cayman
. I believe this might also be the most expensive option.
I wish there was more data on the real world results of roll bars, or maybe some crash tests!
Today, I also found out that full roll cages are not street legal in Canada! Pfft!
Two things to think about - the diameter of the bar and the mounting point for the bottom of the main hoop.
Groups such as POC require 1.65" for alloy steel bars and 1.75" for non-alloy steel bars. Some bars do not measure up.
The mounting
points
of the various bars should also be considered. Some require drilling the floor and using backing plates underneath, others bolt to the seat belt anchors, and some use

on the bulkhead behind the seats.
BBI Autosport makes a good rollbar that does not extend into the cabin which is a consideration for a daily driver when you are wearing a seatbelt instead of a harness.
The link is below but you really need to call them to get any info.

Tarett also makes rollbar, but theirs do not bolt on the floor. I wonder if anyone has experience on their rollbar.

Not exactly true. They provide some paperwork but 9 out of 10 TUV stations will reject that. Germany has too much red tape around car mods and lastly common sense... And there is no testing done for the cage which goes into the
Cayman
, they just confirm the strength of the material.
But the product is high quality. I use use my CR as DD, very view limitations. If you keep airbags in the seats you need to limit the travel of the seat to avoid any interference. I'm 5'9'' and believe you can use the seat up to c 6'.
Rear visibility is good and I still get golf bags in the back.
I purchased a Competition Motorsport bar for my
981
, very good visibility from the drivers seat, installation smooth without removing either seats. I'm very pleased.
