Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I went to Lime Rock this past summer for the PCA event I watched them run through some control courses in the neons and then the vipers, looked like a lot of fun.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Fiancee' of a friend is looking to send him to a class for a wedding gift. Anyone here done ski barber, the car control clinic in particular?

POST 2Original post

Skip Barber has a great reputation. I have been to Lime Rock Park where Skip has a school, very beautiful, very scenic, very historical. I recommend it. I also recommend Porsche Driving Experience @ Road Atlanta, I have been there and the track is AWESOME. Good Luck.

POST 3Original post

If you are in the west, a good friend who does vintage racing suggested Russel at Sears Point over Skippy at Laguna.

POST 4Original post

When I went to Lime Rock this past summer for the PCA event I watched them run through some control courses in the neons and then the vipers, looked like a lot of fun. From what I can tell they teach you about basic braking and steering in the neon, then about tailspin in a dodge truck then see how you do in a viper. John isn't kidding when he says it's beautiful, that area of CT. is unreal to me (I'm originally from IL). If you ask me that would be an awesome wedding gift!

POST 5Original post

Has anyone done the 3 day race school? I was looking into it, is it worth it?

POST 6Original post

I did the 3 day race school. They use(d) dodge formula 2.3 liter racers with 3 speed gear boxes. About the most fun you can have with your pants on. You will learn a lot about the physics of racing and car handling. They will also put you into the Neons and the Vipers as a break from the school. The schedule was 4 sessions each day. 2 in the car and 2 in the classroom. I did it 4 or 5 years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday. What a Hoot!!!!!!!!

POST 7Original post

I did the 3 day at Laguna Seca earlier this summer. It was pricey, but I learned a lot and had a great time. To me being able to drive an open wheel car on one of the greatest tracks in the US wa worth every penny.

POST 8Original post

I did both the 3-day course and the car control clinic at Lime Rock and thoroughly enjoyed both. I learned a lot from each. The 3-day racing school was amazing. I leaned so much about handling and racing techniques like doube-clutch heel toe downshifting and properly apexing turns. The car control was also good, they allow you to take a viper around one of the smaller tracks; and that thing gets sideways with ease. Definitely recommend.
