Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

There is an exhaust manufacturer Zoomers Exhaust Works - Performance Exhaust Systems, Exhaust Tips, and Cat-backs that has a truly unique, patented design that seems to make more power in every vehicle they've designed a system for compared to the other industry leaders. The good news is that they are currently designing a system (using one of the Cayman Club moderators Cayman S) and expect to have it ready in late August or early September. I've had a number of conversations with Zoomer's about this product's development and believe that delivery will come sooner than later if many of our club members would E-mail them at [email removed] . Express your interest and tell them that you are eagerly waiting to see their dyno results! Thank you, Joe

POST 2Original post

Can you tell me which moderator this is??? While I am all for helping other exhaust makers develop products for the Cayman I must also be concious about unsolicited advertising on this site and how it may impact our current sponsors.

POST 3Original post

I predict the zoomers system will put out 8-13HP, Capristo Rules the Cayman Exhaust game buddy

POST 4Original post

So... it looks like their special "patented design" is to add a resonance chamber before the muffler (at least, that's what the C6 exhaust looks like). Would be nice to know how loud their system is compared to the others.

POST 5Original post

Zoomers would be nice. Their exhaust system is very popular with HEMI crowd. That said, Capristo stuff is very nice, but there needs to be more competition in this market to lower the prices.

POST 6Original post

Hello Ken, I was told that the gentleman resides in the Irvine, CA area. I plan to have his name for you on 7/30/07. Meanwhile, I have discussed with Dave Arlasky of Zoomer's what a great group of enthusiasts that we have in the Cayman Club and they are interested in becoming a sponsor. I told him to expect to hear from a club representative. Regards, Joe

POST 7Original post

Hello Bill, There is a whole lot more to the success of the Zoomer's products than a resonance chamber. In fact there is a semi-pro stock car racer that began winning every qualifying session once he began using Zoomer's exhaust. That's right, he is making more HP and has a faster car with mufflers rather than the open exhaust that the competitors are running. Please read the following (from their website): [website items removed, users are free to visit but their marketing materials are not to be published here unless they are a sponsor] I Hope this helps your understanding! Regards, Joe

POST 8Original post

Hello Ed, Don't you think you are judging just a bit too soon?! Zoomer's hasn't even bent the first pipe yet but you already have it figured out! In regards to Capristo ruling, I'm not so sure that super high price and added complexity and weight make a system RULE. I think I'll just keep an open mind! Regards, Joe

POST 9Original post

Does that mean we can only talk about products produced by sponsors? I understand the need to protect their advertising investment, but the usefulness of this site would be negatively impacted if freedom of speech is limited for non-sponsored products.

POST 10Original post

Chris S, did anyone ever say that? No, come on man, it is very simple, if someone advertises something where they stand to profit without being a sponsor that's a no-no. You want to discuss a non-sponsor's product that's fine, if you want to point people to where to buy it or advertise it then that's a no-no. Sometimes the difference between discussion and advertising starts to blur and if it crosses the line in the opinion of site management that is when we step in and take action. BTW there is no such thing as freedom of speech on an internet forum.

POST 11Original post

Zoomers Exhaust Available for Caymans in Sept 07 Hi, Spoke to Zoomers, they anticipate the new Zoomers exhaust for Caymans to be available in September. It will be like the C6 exhaust in Corvettes they do. Now is K-man ready to test yet another exhaust set-up on his car? MISpuds

POST 12Original post

Oh geez let's not go down this road again shall we? You can't yell movie in a crowded firehouse and even in America you aren't free to blab military secrets without reprisal and let's not forget all the cases involving freedom of speech clearly don't apply to private clubs and institutions. As was clearly explained above you are "free" to discuss various products to your hearts content unless your speech becomes "commercial speech" a.k.a. an advertisement/endorsement as an attempt to sell product. Unless you've run a web forum before and suffered guerilla marketers coming in and taking sales away from legitimate advertisers you might still think that the Internet is a "civil" place. Anyway back on topic: I spoke to Zoomers today and they are interested in doing something with us and offering a group buy on their exhaust in the future. Right now they are still in the development stages and working through some things so let's give them some time and breathing room to do their thing and then bring it all together here when its ready ok? Oh and please wipe your feet next time!

POST 13Original post

/wipefeet Good thinking on the getting back on track This exhaust is very interesting...seems I've still got so much research to do >_< Competition is so sweet

POST 14Original post

Anyway, Free Speech and marketing issues aside - Does anyone know why the Zoomer's Exhaust is allegedly so efficient? I looked at the designs on their webpage and see air going along the outside of the casing, but does that make the inside swirl more effectively? Will it pass emissions? Kinda looks like the "Thrush" mufflers of my 69 Firebird days, right Ken? Regards, MISpuds

POST 15Original post

Well your post says allegedly, so of course we'll have to see with some independent testing. Having more options is always better so we'll see how this one plays out.
