Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I asked but he said that he does not know why they are replacing the injectors.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I brought my 09 CS into Porsche service to have my winter wheels and tires installed. After the adviser wrote me up he said that he needed to order new fuel injectors for a "service action". I asked but he said that he does not know why they are replacing the injectors. Has anyone else have this happen and does anyone know why they are replacing the injectors?
A recall is a recall, no big deal. Porsche doesn't have anything on their site about it...is it possibly a technical service bulletin, not a recall? Is there a place to find out for sure?
Dave
I just checked with the service manager at the dealership. There is a campaign out on the injectors, but it is VIN specific. Not all vehicles are involved.

how can someone identify this problem??
my dealership (Greece) are kinda lame .... they do only what the book says...
so anything I should keep my eye out for....??
6speedonline has a poster reporting of a 997.2 recall but mentions he believes it is a very limited number number of cars, including 987.2's. Doesn't sound like panic time.
Apparently Porsche has stopped all DFI production because the high pressure injectors have an identified design flaw. There is no fix, but they are offering a "payment deferment option" where they will let you skip lease/purchase payments while the Gen 2 car is out of service. They are saying that it could be 6 months before the redesign is completed and parts are available. To qualify for the deferment plan, you must submit proof of vehicle non-op status from you motor vehicle licensing board, or in the case of a car that has experienced the failure, a note will be sent to Porsche financial. I am not sure how I would feel about having them garage my car for 6 months. People in states with lemon law statutes might want to look into their rights.
OK, that was a complete fabrication. ROTFLMAO.
Just an 08 owner envious of the MkII enhancements tweaking his pals. LOL.
Don't worry, guys. Porsche will take care of this.
If i reeled one person into my little devious tale, spilling my coffee laughing so hard was worth it.
This is not a recall - officially, a recall is a legal action mandated and administered by the NTHSA. This is more likely what's called a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or a Workshop Campaign. TSBs are a campaign where you are sent a notice telling you they want you to bring the car in to have something changed or fixed. A WC is where they fix or replace something when you bring the car in for regular service or another problem. Another good reason for you to bring your car into the dealer once in a while.
You probably shouldn't worry too much - even flaky/lame dealers will do this stuff - they have to every time they pug your car into the computer, it's read out and sent to Porsche in Germany - based on the VIN, the computer will tell them they have to perform the fix, if your car falls within the VIN range - and they get to bill Porsche for the time to fix it... it's what we call a win-win situation.

Had the DFI change out accomplished.
Seems the engine is not as "peppy." Also fuel mileage seems to have decreased about 1-2 mpg.
Could the dealer have reflashed the DME as part of the bulletin?
Thanks, will be calling the dealer.

Just a quick update. I had this done a couple of months ago. They gave me a loaner and had my car for almost 3 days. I never had a problem before they did it and it seems just the same now that it is done.
