Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Position the roll bar into the car laying back, with the front feet towards the dash, and the rear legs pointing down. Once its in you can stand it up, about centered over the handbrake and tilt it forward to raise the rear feet. The front feet will squeeze along the floor while the rear feet will be angled enough to clear the rear seat base and slide right into position.
First chase the threads with a 7/16 20 tap and die set, Then for the front, using a threaded rod, rather than the supplied or specified bolts, thread that in the forward seat belt anchor point. You can then slide the bushing over top and with a washer, double nut it to tighten to spec. The read you can just use a grade 8 bolt.
I was amazed at how easy this was this way.
This is just confirming what I have read in other threads where some have struggled with hitting the mirror doing it the opposite way and have shattered their windshield.
Where did you get the threaded rod?
I couldnt find any when I installed mine.
It was a real pain to install!
Id hate to uninstall it.
I didnt have to remove the B pillar trim.
Hello everyone,
I am preparing to have my Tequipment Roll Bar installed in the next few weeks. I am going to have a local race shop who has experience installing these do the work so I dont mess anything up. I purchased the full OEM bar install kit from Suncoast.
Has anybody done this install recently? Did they have to cut anything near the carpet? Are the OEM bolts OK to use? Want to arm my shop with as much info on the install as possible before they do it.
If a cage was never in the car, youll have to pull up a small section of carpet and trim the plastic by the lower portion of the B pillar, where the cage goes into the seatbelt anchor. Its an easy trim. Ive done two of these installs and theyre troublesome in the same places.
Funny enough the previous owner also had a Tequipment bar in the car that he removed before selling to me. He told me he didn't have to cut any of the carpet area to make it fit.
