Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used the air filter section to install my BMC filter.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Maybe you can help.
I have now encountered three separate and different pollen filters. My 01 C4 had one style, it came from the factory with it.
I purchased two new ones from Barrier Porsche.
When I went to replace the one in the 99 C2 it was also different from the 01 or the new.
Anyone know which one is correct? Except for the one in the 99 all came from a known ligitimate source.
Thanks to all.
Palting,

Willwest,
There were (are?) 3 pollen filters. Most folks go for the charcoal activated one (996 571 219 03) and I've heard some dealers only stock this one now.
Exactly what does the pollen filter do? Is it a wasted on a convertible?
I have replaced mine once, and was going to order a new one for replacement when the dealer offered a regular one or more expensive charcoal activated one. But, I dont think I'm going to get filtered air in my convertible with the top down!
Scott,
The pollen filter is only going to filter air that comes though the heating / air conditioning vents. So you make a good point! With the top down (or even with the windows open) you are by-passing the filter. Must be one of those luxury car items
