Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need to replace the muffler on my 924 Turbo. Finding a new original one would be near impossible so are looking for any recommendations of an exhaust specialist (ideally near Castle Hill in Sydney) who could fabricate one. Thanks in advance. Steve

POST 2Original post

When my rear muffler failed I was able to get a new one at the local muffler shop...  Probably isn't to OEM specs (which may be important to you and I fully understand if that's the case) however if you're car is more a driver you can probably avoid the $$ of a hand crafted one.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Bear for your reply. I went past a shop on the way home from picking up my car today to see what they could do and the approx. cost. In terms of OEM the only thing which is important is the exhaust tip so it looks right (to me) but other than that I am okay with a brand new one. The guy I spoke to was very helpful and said they could do a full sports style exhaust for around $500 as it isn't too complex and just pop the existing tip on if that's what I wanted.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
