Suggestion
Partly because the filters allow a quick check on all the 911 variants together with colour etc.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone tried to search for a car using the new "improved" pre-owned finder on the Porsche UK website?
Unless I'm missing something, it's completely useless. Can merely filter it down to 911 - not a specific variant.
I think its an improvement ! Partly because the filters allow a quick check on all the 911 variants together with colour etc.
Also the image quality is improved.
I sent my comments to Porsche but they were returned as criticism.
I may be wrong but I don't think that you can separate Cayman from Boxster or 911 variants from each other except by choosing engine power, perhaps year etc. Guesswork for me.
When you have trawled your way through dozens of 911 and looked at one you are then taken back to the start.
Much harder to use, unless I'm missing something but happy to be corrected.
Nope that is s
t. Not surprised they consider any comment as criticism, they have being polite'ish a bad attitude to customers.
I think the change says more about how little they care for enthusiasts who know a bit about the cars.
Under the pictures of the models there is a 'Generation' drop down list where you can select 987, 981 etc.
Just underneath this there is a set of Model Version check boxes where you can select 718 Cayman GTS, Cayman GTS etc.
If you pick multiple models the Generation drop down contains both i.e. 987, 981, 991, 997 etc.
The Model Version section then has a 'tab' for each model i.e. 718 Boxster/Cayman and a 911 tab.
The new search is more powerful, but there was a nice simplicity to the previous site.
Images are definitely a lot nicer.
Yep, once you've made an initial selection go the cars list. Then if you hit Model you can drill down on variants.
Two steps rather than the old one step, but the functionality is still there.

ah yes, well spotted. Definitely not obvious. Thanks
I'm glad this has been mentioned - I thought it was me.
Yesterday it was fine, but today it is awful.
Can someone forward this thread to Porsche, as the new system is rubbish and nowhere near as good to use as the old one.

Thank you. Corrected!
Although it doesn't distinguish between 911 models (991/ 997 etc) does it?
Yep. Just need to drill down to the specific model to get to that point.
Been using it on an iPhone. No problem finding there are just two 997 GTS Coupes in the network.
Persevere, it does work.
For reference I work for a cloud software company. We field criticism every time we do an update! However we love our customers and we do take all their feedback very seriously.
Take Change by the hand....... otherwise Change will take you by the throat.....
Having said that, my initial impressions are it's a bit s

agree unusable :-(
seems no easy way to look for a Cayman 981 GTS as an example, where it was one page and 2 clicks before

I don't like the new site either but it can be done but with more than 2 clicks!

Edge does not let me expand models :-(
it seems to work in the out of date Internet explorer though

No problems with Edge on my PC, all working like a charm so I'm going to call PICNIC on this one

Definitely. Works fine in Chrome, albeit in a couple of clicks.
Doesn't work for me
I'm looking for a pre-owned 981 Boxster, but can't seem to exclude Caymans and 718s from the search. Also, fine-tuning the price banding seems bizarre at lower levels.
And, preferred the old layout

OK I'm clearly demonstrating my Luddite tendencies! When I get the pictures of all the models an d click the 911 box, all I seem able to do is select the 420 cards available.. Where exactly is the generation drop down, 'cos I can't see it!!
Posts provide a demonstration of why Web designers can be sure to never get it right!
Still think its a lot easier to drill down into spec. For example how many manual Carrera T 991 cars are listed.

11. 5 Clicks from start to finish. Not hard really.

Navigating it from my iPhone feels cheap and clunky.
Not nice at all. Then again have you tried the VW one? I tried using it to by a car for the train station run - I gave up in the end and bought a Mini because I found the search just too frustrating!
I still find the new system is flawed.
There seem to be OPC cars advertised in the classifieds that don't appear in the Search - so you are not necessarily seeing everything that's available.

I don’t always get the drop down for models either, works 1 in 5 times :-(
Then if you go back a stage it can find zero cars. Def very buggy atm.
If anyone is still interested in this topic, if you go to other European countries you can see new cars for sale i.e. the showroom cars which the UK website does not show. There are, for instance, loads of 991 GTS in various forms.
Just the job to keep at the villa in the South of France.

have you clicked on the red "420 cars available" button? this takes you to the next screen where you THEN select generation / variant

There is something in OPC’s franchise agreement which stops them doing this...part of the reason is (I believe) that under the franchise agreement they have to have oneof every model in the showroom....if they don’t they get fined. So I suppose if you’re an OPC you don’t really want to be advertising the 991.2 GTS sat in your showroom because you can’t sell it. They can get exemptions for a couple of weeks from the regional manager but they have to get it before not after.
they seem to have improved their website a bit, which is nice
anyone know that the different is between
Porsche Pre Owned
and
Porsche Approved Pre Owned?
the site allows you to filter between both but doesn't say what the difference is. My OPC are being a bit vague too

One has warranty and one doesn’t??

I can't believe an OPC is allowed to sell any cars that aren't "approved"
Looking at OPC Marfair for example and toggling the filters this (very nice) 992 is pre-owned rather than pre-woned approved
https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsch...
but look at the final photo = warranty and all the usual conditions
