Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've checked the obvious places such as the classifieds and E-Bay with no luck so far.

The owner is a friend of mine and he has recently developed a replacement system for the 996 which includes mufflers and tips (I'm using my factory Porsche chrome ovals).

This fall, I plan to develop (hmm, copy) GT3 headers and use his 100 cell cats for a complete setup.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hello again everyone. I hope that someone can help me with the following:
1- Haynes, Bentley, Factory, etc. repair manul or CD? Where, who and how can I get my hands on one?
2- Has anyone experienced the H&R coil overs for the 996? I am getting the coil over kit that does not have the mono ball top for the front shocks (too harsh me thinks)
3- Where can I get my hands on another steerig wheel other than my four spoke? The three spoke sport wheel would be nice but the truth is that although it looks a hell of a lot better than mine, I'm not sure if the rim itself is any different. My Audi S4 had a nicer steering wheel. I've checked the obvious places such as the classifieds and E-Bay with no luck so far.
In return for some advice and assistance with the sourcing of the stuff mentioned above (because I'm new and I don't want to mooch just yet), I would like to share an exhaust secret with you guys. If anyone has owned a VW or Audi, you may have heard of Brullen Exhausts in Toronto, Canada. The owner is a friend of mine and he has recently developed a replacement system for the 996 which includes mufflers and tips (I'm using my factory Porsche chrome ovals). This exhaust is 100% 304 stainless steel including the minor things such as stainless weld, stainless insulation over the fiberglass packing and stainless internal bands to prevent the fiberglass from moving inside. The quality is top notch (no, I don't work for him or sell for him) and the sound (in my opinion) is nicer (deeper) than the Fabspeed or B&B setup (I have friends with both of those brands). Typically, he does not polish the entire mufflers but can if someone desires. I mention this because he is Canandian based and your dollar goes very, very far up here. The cost of this setup is much cheaper than any other that I have seen on line. I can get quotes and post them this week (perhaps a group buy?). Anyhow, the mufflers are really stage one for me. This fall, I plan to develop (hmm, copy) GT3 headers and use his 100 cell cats for a complete setup. Please feel free to reply to this post or email me for more details. I can be emailed at [email removed]
Thanks for the friendly welcome and assistance.

Just giving you a hard time.
To validate your claim of the muffler being first class, it would be helpful if your friend could upload some .wav files of how the exhaust sounds.
Regards.
Nevermind the WAV file Vik. If you're in Chicago and I'm in Toronto, I'll meet you and you can hear it live. What about we meet halfway, say Niagara Falls?
No seriously, asking him for a WAV is just too much. I don't know if he even knows what that is much less have one on hand. I'll try to post some by recording them on my IPAQ.
I had the H&R coilover kit installed on my 2000 996 last year. I love it. I bought it from TireRack.com and had it installed at West End Alignment here in Los Angeles.
Alon, I'm originally from Toronto. What part of Toronto do you live? All of my immediate family still lives there. I drove my car up to Toronto in June and back in July. Great drive!
I'm glad to hear that you really like the coilovers. I've been worried that the setup may be too harsh for the crappy Toronto roads. I am in the Yonge and Eglinton area but before that, Thornhill. What are you doing in L.A?

I ordered my three spoke wheel from the an area dealership. The three spoke wheel looks and feels much nicer, IMO. The rim is also a larger diameter than the stock 4 spoke that came with my car.
The coilovers felt good even in Toronto. I think the roads here in LA are even worse! The ride isn't harsh at all, and to tell you the truth, I wish I could have gotten the stiffer setup that they make for the racing teams. It wasn't available and they were very expensive. I've lowered the car about 1" too.
I used to live near Jane & Sheppard. Here in LA I'm working as a software developer for Universal.
