And not actually a bad description of a 3.6 with PSE starting up from cold and setting off slowly (20mph limit on site at work), I think.

Driving past the retail park in a nearby town at about 5-6k rpm, I was quite proud to have set the SONY store's burglar alarm off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After hearing my car start up and rumble out of the car park one evening, a girl at work told me the next day my car 'sounds like a tiger'. Priceless! And not actually a bad description of a 3.6 with PSE starting up from cold and setting off slowly (20mph limit on site at work), I think. Anyone else had something even more descriptive levelled at their PSE...?

POST 2Original post

not directly at the PSE, but one of my neighbours called me a C*NT once, coz I drove into the road late one night with the PSE growling away... If he hadn't been the size of Michael Duncan Clarke, I'd have lamped him one, instead I apologised of course!!

POST 4Original post

Driving past the retail park in a nearby town at about 5-6k rpm, I was quite proud to have set the SONY store's burglar alarm off. :cap:

POST 5Original post

Was that 5-6k in 6th? Might have been the sonic boom!!!

POST 6Original post

You can certainly hear and feel a cam change at about that rpm. EDIT: just read your post again. Just to clarify, I was in no way in a gear higher than first, and therefore well within the proscribed limits for the roads in question. If anyone has CCTV footage, there must be something wrong with the playback speed. OK?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Understood. Likewise, I was definitely in second and not third as I went through the Manchester airport tunnels (then turned round and went back through them again), this morning. Yes, it was definitely second gear I wrung out, not third...
