Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, I was driving at night last night, and noticed one headlight is shining really low...this morning, opened it up, found that one of the pivot points is broken, and the internal basically fell down and faced down. I was able to attach it back to the working pivot, but one of em is broken. Do you guys know if they sell the internals of the headlight? It's a 2002, with the bixenon option, so i'm guessing it's way over 1500 for a headlight assembly. Thanks, dave

Category: Lights Price: $1700 Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing Part fits: Porsche Panamera Location (State): NY Item Condition: Used Shipping Information: Item can be shipped Well guys up for sale is my OEM Black Headlight Kit. I'm putting the car back to stock and the only reason for their sale. They look really sharp on the Panny. Its a completely different look and feel. One of my favorite modifications on the car. This gives you the meaner yet elegant look of the GTS. They are in really nice condition. The only small little blemish on an upper edge on the Driver Side, not really noticeable installed. Any thing you see on the lenses is just dust. Once they are at my house I'll give them a nice clean and package them. I bought these from Suncoast about a year ago. I'm in Westchester County, NY. Quote: This is the exact kit: http://suncoastparts.com/product/970BLKHL.html

POST 3Original post

can you get the back cover off the headlight assembly and reach in there far enough to replace the broken piece or get the culprit out and carefully superglue it back together? I had a loose piece on my drivers side that had just come "undone" and was able to pop it together with a little love.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll play with it, see if I can take it apart, it looks like i can if i recall correctly. I just know i have to fix it soon, otherwise the other pivot will break as it's holding all the weight on that one.

POST 7Original post

if you cant find the pc that broke off, maybe look on ebay. the light comes out really easily i think.

POST 9Original post

1st Q for help: owned my 2004 C4S since new, here in FL. Headlamp plexon shows a minor coating & just doesn't look new anymore. Bought some plastic polisher. Conventional wisdom says lightly polish repeatedly ocer time. Any other thoughts

POST 11Original post

polish kits work okay, but the 3M Headlight Kit available locally rocks. Various grits of sandpaper, polishing pads, drill extension etc. follow the directions exactly, don't panic after the first step and your lights will look new when you are done. I did it on some litronics I bought off ebay that were supposed to be 10/10 condition wise and they looked like crap when they showed up. 3M is the way to go, two years ago and still looking great.

POST 12Original post

interested please text [phone removed] thanks

POST 13Original post

Really appreciate that. The polish I have came from Griot's Garage. It's mediocre for the cost.... I assume the 3M Headlight Kit is availble on-line. Do you have a source site? Thanks again for your earlier reply

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

all good though...there are tons of stuff out there for this. Even wall mart does the service for like $30 each light I think. http://www.autogeek.net/headlight-le...FQMTawodDnYlyw also meguiars even has a video on how to do this on their site. www.meguiars.com good luck.

POST 17Original post

My apologies...wasn't my intent. My search for headlight threads came up with this one. Kind of on subject...but your right. I'll learn protocol.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

just joking around...all here to help and have fun along the way. dave

Quote: dave, i just had the same thing happened to me, but i didn't find out much on this thread except how to polish my headlights, did you ever resolve your problem, i tried some super glue, wait till in the morning & try & see, let me know what you did, i'm not even sure what you call that piece, i can't find the piece (yellow) that broke off.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

1. Take out the headlight using the removal tool in your tool pouch. 2. remove the black cover on the back, 2 screws next to 2 clips and undo it. 3. I only unplugged the wire to the little self leveler, and pulled all the wires out of the little clip that holds it in the middle 4. unplug the self leveler, and remove it by taking the 2 torque screws off, and then angle it out of the track, 1st picture. 5. in the 2nd picture below, there's 1 screw on the side that faces into the center of the car. Remove that with the torque driver. 6. in the next picture, you'll see that I pried and pulled, see the points I used to do this, and that whole black piece comes out giving you enough room to do what you need to do in there. Note that the 2 dots came out when i pulled the unit out, 4th picture. Just remember that when you put it back, these dots go in the same way, slide the unit almost all the way in, then put dots in, and then finish pushing the unit back into place. I didn't need to pull the entire thing apart, as I found that mine was not broken, and just fell out of the tracks. I did however notice, that if you wanted to take the thing apart, there are 4 torque screws at the bottom part of the internals which are bolted to the silver back parts of the internal, if you remove those 4 screws with a little finesse, you could take the whole thing out and apart. 7. All I did was pop it all back together and all was good. Good luck man.

Quote: thanks dave, especially with pics, i do alot better with pics, i got my piece to stay in place, all it needed was a lil bit of glue, but my headlight is still dim, so do i still need to do what you did & replace that piece, i think the bulb is ok because it at least still burns, if it wasn't any good it wouldn't burn at all would it. do you even know what that piece is called.

POST 22Original post

dave, actually the bulb on the side of the lens is the one that is dim, is that the main headlight bulb, when i put the brights on, then the bulb in the middle came on, & i noticed neither of the bulbs on the inside of the lens came on, inside i mean the 2 seperate small lens closest to the trunk, do you understand what i'm TRYIN to say.

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, since your a picture guy, here goes. See picture. A=parking lamp, it is dim in nature, and stays that way B=signal light, left/right, hazard, alarm arm/disarm C=headlight, I have a bi-xenon. What that means is if it's on, and i hit the highbeam, something inside the projector deflects the lamp upwards or in normal mode just shines strait out D=highbeam, this only comes on if my headlights are off, and I just flash the high beams. Now, if your lights behave the way I've noted above, it's normal

POST 25Original post

by the way dave, is that headlight you used in picture on your car, if it is i love the paint job, i don't know if i want the trim or to paint them, i hav one headlight thats not quite as shiny as the other, but i jus got it back & its pretty close now, but i hav never really liked the fried egg look. by the way i jus had the tail lights done, they're pretty dark, but the lights do come thru. a lil too dark for the headlights though.

POST 26Original post

If anyone ever needs a headlight for parts, I have one - bi-xenon drivers side. I replaced it in my old 03. I can't remember exactly what was wrong with it except the left turn signal wouldn't work with it. All the diagnostics would say was it failed. The bulb works and the leveling is fine. I'd sell it super cheap, it's doing me no good and really has no market value.

Quote: i guess it would fit a 02 996, how do you know which type of lights you have, does a certain one come standard on certain models. how many different types are there other than bi-xenon, & which is considered the best?

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 2915093

Quote: it's just a picture of the one i saw not long ago, it is a nice paint job. I have an 02 c4s, so it is that light, just minus the paint.

POST 29Original post

Quotes source post: 2914438

Quote: a = city light or day time light b = high beam (this goes on with your bi-xenon high beam) c = low beam / bi-xenon d = fog light (turns off automatically when high beam is on)
