Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just my luck, got into the car today having not used it for a week and the Battery was flat! I had a new alternater Fitted 2 months ago and all has seemed fine but I noticed my gauges glowing brighter as I rev the car and now this. Do you think the battery has given up and wont hold a charge? I have charged the battery but it doesnt turn over that good and again the gauges as glowing bright as I rev the car and dimming as the revs drop. Any ideas???

New battery? Check the old one, sometimes it has a date stamp. Sometimes, if you get 3/4/5 years out of a battery you may be doing well (depends if it's a daily driver, whether used for short runs or long runs and how many harsh winters it's had). Unless you need an "official" battery for warranty etc, don't bother with a Mol (the Porsche brand). Very expensive and not really very good. Plus only 2 years guarantee. Get a Varta (it is a rebadged Bosch, but cheaper) 315*175*175 mm 85 Ah and 800 CCA FIVE year warrany Varta Silver 585 200 080 (short code F18) = Bosch Silver 0092 S5 010 (short code S5 010) Go to somewhere like ManBat = approx £80 http://www.manbat.co.uk/ http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=56116
