Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello
Has anyone ever installed the
Soul
Performance Long Tube Street
Headers
(with 200 CEL Cats) on a
987.2
with the stock
exhaust
and no
PSE
?
Ive tried searching and can only find clips with the full system, ie
Soul headers
paired with the
Soul Exhaust
(which sounds great but beyond my budget)
So I’m seriously considering the
Soul
Long tube street
headers
and am wondering what it will sound like with:-
Option 1-
Soul headers
with the Stock
exhaust
no
PSE
Option 2-
Soul headers
with the Remus
Exhaust
which is currently on my
987.2
- Just worried about excessive drone
If anyone has experience, opinions or advice with regard to the above setups or has any video clips of either, I’d love to have a listen
Thank you
Jkay
I've asked this of
Soul
and they don't have this setup as well on a base or an S. I've also trawled the net and can't find a clip of such a setup.
I think if you go
Soul
Remus that will be fantastic. I like the sound clips of the remus mufflers and anything I've heard on
Soul
also sounds good to me. They also seem a honest house and don't seem to over claim power increases.
Hope you at least get the
Soul
200 Cel.
I think I definitely will at some point, ie get the
Soul Headers
with 200 CEL Cats. As long as theres no excessive drone with the Remus I'm inclined to go down this path, as I think it will sound great at full chat
Yeah, agreed, I'm on a
Borla
catback on my 3.4
987.2
and I may at some point throw a header there. I initually thought that a catless header with a stock
exhaust
will be optimal - people do it but nobody recorded it on the internet. I imagine that the pops and crackles will be accentuated in the hollow header tubes but stock mufflers will calm it down a bit. My
Borla
is about 20% louder than stock with minimal drone, so Im worried that it will be too loud with tube
headers
.
The problem is that these things dont simply add up like this. I will be searching for someone that did this
Ive read of people doing
headers
with
PSE
. I think those impressions are still valuable because theoretically
PSE
closed should sound the same or very similar to the stock non-
PSE
muffler.
Here is a video that we have of
987.2
with just
SOUL
Long Tube Street
Headers
and
PSE
.
If anyone is able to get us a good selection of high quality video clips that I can assemble into a video, I can extend a marketing initiative to anyone who would be interested in helping us make a video for the Long Tube Street Headers alone.

Thanks
@Soul Performance Products
. It's a great choice for a weekend car setup. It seams that PSE is similar in loudness to Borla, having just different pitch. Adding the catless headers makes it sound very raw and aggressive, but not obnoxious.
I would disagree based on what I've heard from customers over the years.
Borla
will be a slight bit louder with a deeper note.
PSE
was really designed to meet a threshold of tolerance - a lot of us find
PSE
to be too quiet, but few would argue that
PSE
is too loud. When you add
headers
into the mix that's when a rear
exhaust
is really put to the test, and in the
Boxster
/
Caymans
it's how well can they mitigate drone in the 2-3k RPM range.
PSE
with
headers
is a great pairing as
Porsche
executed on a great fundamental design that reduces drone and keeps things exciting but not "brutal". I would say that our Valved
Exhaust
is a step up in spirit, with valves closed being completely livable and valves open being
PSE
+ while minding drone. We designed it to pair well with
headers
also as it's the progression most of our customers make in their quest for maximum enjoyment with minimal drawbacks. It can be a surprise to some to add
headers
to their great sounding rear
exhaust
only to have it begin to drone as that
exhaust
was not designed around header use, and we made every effort to avoid that. As always, everyone's opinions and tolerances are different, we're always here to chat if you're on the fence to make sure you get what you're looking for. If ultimately the combination doesn't meet the mark for you, we're return friendly - we just ask that you give us the opportunity for a discussion on your goals before you take the shot.

I think the
Soul
/Remus combination will sound fantastic, but I can't speak to the drone issue. Either way, I recommend the
Soul headers
. Try it, and if it's tolerable, drone-wise, then you're good to go. If not, I'm sure you can pick up a take-off factory cat-back
exhaust
on the cheap.

Hi Mike- if you still need this I can assist. I have done a number of YouTube car videos and have a binaural audio setup to capture some nice clips. 987.2 base.
