You did well to only loose £15k on the 570s as I know how much these cars drop I ran a 2 year old one over last summer for a few months and sold it not because of the horrific depreciation but because I didn't like the car.

It really is very fast down the road and I found it more involving than the 997 GTS I ran before (both manual).

All 911s are capable of far more than they're used for on an everyday basis and people don't buy GTSs to track them.

Remember only 176 UK manual Ts were made which means these cars will become increasingly rare as owners hold on to them and fewer will come to market in a similar way to the 997 GTS manual which resulted in used prices staying around list ££ even for up to 7 years old examples.

Suggestion
I would buy another McLaren perhaps a 720/lt and run for the short term only but as you say the downsides are the auto box (and turbos) which is why at this price the n.a.

So after nearly 2 years of 'T-ing', I find I have the itch again. But quite shocked by the offers from OPCs (very low 60s for a 7T - mile car). Do we think they'll settle there or continue to drop?
Hard to predict the market, but exact specification may affect individual p/ex offers.
I have noticed that a lot of ‘T’s seem to have conflicting options - i.e. a lwt car with lots of weight added back.
What is your spec.?

I tried to retain some but not all of the focussed stuff: manual, no sunroof or RWS. Kept the rear seats but deleted thin glass. Went for the T interior and I like it a lot. The cars on the OP locator are under- or over - specc'd imho.
It's a stupid itch and I daredn't say what I'm looking at but it may be time to get out if Ts aren't going to settle. Or just keep it forever...it is a brilliant car and the best 911 I had since my 993.
I also toyed with selling my T before Christmas.
Aside from the valuation which is similar I couldn't really come up with an alternative road car which would make a switch worthwhile.
I think the spec does matter but I doubt there is much demand for the stripped out option with fixed bucket seats its just not that sort of
car, despite Porsche marketing. I went with manual/rear steer/no rear seats/18way seats and yes a glass roof just to lighten the interior.
It makes for an interesting road drive that will probably return more value next year than my M3 CP did after 3 years ownership in percentage terms

OPC retail’s seem to start very low £70’s so a £8-10k spread seems typical. Out of interest what colour is your car? - I may well be interested
Market is on its arse....OPC’s will I suspect only buy cars at a level where they think they can’t lose money.
If you want to sell I’d be going SoR with someone like JZM...they’d charge something like £5k and get close to OPC money for it so you might get a few £k more. I don’t think you can say any cars will stabilise at current levels

TGE TV's T is up for sale. Details are on his instagram.
Are you trading in, or just selling to them?
I'd want a bit off at the new end of things, whatever you buy probably won't be much better depreciation wise at the moment.
You'd hope the T has seen the worst of things, l can't see them being drastically less by spring.
If you want a manual contemporary 911 there's not many other options and not too many of them either.
There's actually not that much choice if you're trying to buy one in the "right" spec.

A lot better option and will hold it’s money a lot better.
Maybe...I went from A 991.1 GTS into the T and liked it a lot more. As a driver’s car it is much better. For GT the GTS edges it. Ironically, it’s now the GT I need for present purposes...

Trade on your car is £65k but technically slightly more if it has buckets.
Your spec is 'right' for the T in that it is minimal although most buyers do want the lightweight glass if only for enhanced exhaust noise internally. The T pack is also crucial and red stitching with the white a great colour combination for resale.
I sold my red man 18 18 T last summer for just under list ££ with sub 2k miles it had heated (standard) comforts, rear seats, pcm, T pack red stitching, lightweight glass and dab.
Actually really miss the car more than I thought.
I tend to think your price of early £60ks looks cheap irrespective of your relatively highish mileage. Only 30 white UK T manuals and I think they will become fairly collectible due to low numbers and last of the narrow bodied Carreras although granted this could take a couple of years and depends on the 'niche' 992 models although current indications are not brilliant imo from the basic cars thus far.
Imo I would be inclined to keep the car especially as you say you like it.
A great package at the money btw and very reminiscent of the 997.1 C2S in many areas including sound.

Best mate/apprentice by the sounds of it !
Nice buy at £50k these
but needs Buckets, PCCB's and the glass imo to make any sense of the T
it was a GT3 failed orders car at the end of the day and a bit meh, at todays pries looks VERY expensive over 991.2 GTS's
very small market segment for this car. And I mean VERY small where 99% will look at the cheaper GTS with better brakes more stuff and more Bhp esp in gay spec. The spec I listed suits the car but very few did that !

You do post some condescending garbage, cheapest one for sale is over £70k, they are more with buckets etc - so it’d be even better than a ‘nice buy’ at £50k

I agree but he did get paid 10k from Topaz. If I was buying I'd want the black one at Bramley's.
It wasn't long ago that 911R was in a 987 Cayman R...wonder how he would have taken to GT3 owners belittling him for not having the real deal, i.e a 911 GT3.....not very well, I imagine!

Instead of selling if I'd bought one of these I'd send to Litchfield. They will send you back a new car.

What makes me laugh on this Porsche forum is Porsche owners quoting how much Mclaren owners loose on their cars.
The Black 911 T at Bradley’s says list 108k so that owner lost 30k in a year and 4K miles.
I lost 20k on my 911T in 9 months and 5k miles.
Yet on my Mclaren 570s I lost 15k in 10months and 6k miles.
It is seen as if it is all very well and good to loose big sums on Porsche cars because you can get a GT3 and make 20k to balance it out.
But what about those of us that did not get a GT car?
McLaren ownership starts to look attractive!
The only trick Porsche has is the manual gearbox option in this kind of car.
I personally can't see how it's a replacement for not getting a GT3.
That's a rather sweeping assumption. In broadest terms it's perhaps the same ethos as a GT3 touring, more everyday, with rear seats.
I don't want a GTS - dunno why!
It's a manual 911 that trys to hang on to what a 911 was perceived to be, back in the day.
Granted there's not as many buyers chasing that these days - there's not many manual Ts either.

I too really want the 'T'. Currently have a Cayman 981 GTS which is amazing, but I've always wanted a 911 and the itch won't go away.
Constantly looking at those on the market and watching prices. Seems £74K is the average price point at the moment, other than a couple in the late £70k's.
Think I will wait 6 months and see what prices do? Pretty pointless in reality as mine will be depreciating too, although it has held really well over last 2 years.
Anyone want to swap a 'T' for a 981 GTS + £???

The T was another one of those cars where the spec is crucial especially if you sold in the first year. Overspecced cars with PDK sun roof rws and other ott expensive options defeat the whole purpose of the car and could never be recouped residually as many found out to their cost. The Bramley car is a prime example and to spec a T to over £100k + is financial suicide unless the cars a medium or long term keeper.
You did well to only loose £15k on the 570s as I know how much these cars drop I ran a 2 year old one over last summer for a few months and sold it not because of the horrific depreciation but because I didn't like the car. Fortunately it only cost me a couple of ££ks in depreciation.
Re the GT3 you only make the premium profit if you sell and many of us on PH are keeping our 991 2 GT3s (mainly manuals) as they are actually considered by many including me to be the sweet spot of contemporary Porsche GTs and not just because of the 'manuel' option.
I would buy another McLaren perhaps a 720/lt and run for the short term only but as you say the downsides are the auto box (and turbos) which is why at this price the n.a. Performante looks increasingly attractive at c £165k.

I had a GTS and ended up in my T and it was a revelation! People are bamboozled by what the models are for...the GTS is an uber - comfy executive mile cruncher. All 911s are capable of far more than they're used for on an everyday basis and people don't buy GTSs to track them. And while the GT3 Touring is so visually appealing because it's lost the lairy wing, what is the point, particularly if you can't get one for love or money? If you're a trackday monkey, you'll go for the GT3 with the wing.
Having had many 911s, I'm here to tell you that the T is a brilliant road car. Especially with the manual box, it feels alive and lively. It's plenty fast enough and it doesn't need buckets unless you're going to track it (and it would be more fun than a GTS if you did...).
And guess what, I've talked myself into keeping it indefinitely. Mad to throw away so much whilst the market is down, Thanks all for your very interesting comments and suggestions. Even 911R, if only for the responses to his post!

I have a 981 Spyder and a manual T and I really like switching between them both but if I was forced to keep one it would be the T all day everyday because it's a much more feel some car and better in the wet. Like av185 says it also reminds me a lot of my 997.1. It's a car that is surprisingly great to drive too at low speeds which given our congested roads works well. The Spyder really needs winding up over 4k to get the best out of it which is why the T wins for everyday driving fun.

I am fine I still own a 987, most people on here would not touch a 987 with a barge pole.
I think the T model is a s

I did not even slack it off, just said "be a nice buy at £50k" which it will be. but looks VERY over priced atm imho vs a GTS.
as for people having a go at me, well comes as standard, matters not what cars I own, too many snobs on here would not be seen dead in a 987.
I ran a Fiesta ST3 a few years back as my daily, I don't give a fu4k. But get loads of hassle for such a low rent car on here and owning my 3 or 4 Audi TT's
people get too upset imo on metal objects. I drive what's good at any price be it 10k or £130k. People seem to want to show off on here more than drive which shows when you say you don't like a car.

I had the use of a T last summer when one of my cars were in for service work. Very basic spec but you could really tell the difference from my 991.2s .
The T felt a great driver’s car, find one in a nice simple spec and I’m sure it could be a keeper.
Doesn’t shock me on the trade offer being in the lower 60s, market is struggling. Not much to replace it for what they are offering you in px price imo.
Perhaps there's something in the water because I was considering selling my 911 T too - to go for a 911T, 1969 stylee! A radical departure and probably foolhardy, but when the scratching starts...
Aside from this possible leap across time I have been surprised by the modern T. It really is very fast down the road and I found it more involving than the 997 GTS I ran before (both manual). Have had two Cayman Rs too and would pick the 911 for the superior grip and rear end feel.

Expressing an opinion can be done in a variety of ways - using 's
t' as a default expression for things which one doesn't rate is unnecessarily provocative. (as is 'gay spec' - whatever that may be!)
As we know from all these values threads, cars are worth what people will pay for them - the market sets the price, not the online community of pedants, know-alls and ASD cases (I think I qualify in the first two categories) that is PH Porsche.

So just to get back to the original point, and I am struggling here. I'm offered £60 - 62K for mine in p/x by OPCs. It cost £94K 22 months ago. It's a good spec, not OTT but not spartan, anyway. Yes, I've done 7T miles, but really? That ain't a lot. The closest I find on the locator is this:
https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en_GB/911-Carrera-T-...
So even with 111 point inspection, a year's warranty and a bit of haggling on the windshield price, the OPC clears as near as damn it £10K. I don't think that's the way to treat your loyal customers and it shows how far people have lost their understanding of the meaning of money, I suspect largely due to PCPs where the months payment is just rolled over into the latest shiny model (and yes, I've been there).
Call me old - fashioned: I probably am. But I've got a bloody good car still..!
Aside from values, the T is a well optioned 911, much like the Cayman R.
Neither of which is s**t.
I personally wouldn't feel the need to participate in a thread about a car l don't own and label it s**t.
A psychologist's dream this forum at times...

Aside from this possible leap across time I have been surprised by the modern T. It really is very fast down the road and I found it more involving than the 997 GTS I ran before (both manual). Have had two Cayman Rs too and would pick the 911 for the superior grip and rear end feel.

That is crazy, keep all day long..... we have a 992 landing soon and is a keeper. We also have a Macan GTS, it is staying long term as OPC trade values are a joke - similar to your story

Ouch! It's still under warranty, which you can transfer - so I think private sale is best option, followed by S.o.R at a reputable outfit.
What are you hoping to p/ex against? If it's nothing more than the need for new car smell, then I'd just buy an air freshener and stick with it. The cost per month of depreciation levels out. 7k miles is nothing - keep it for at least a couple more years.
Very interesting ......The depreciation of this and most cars follows the PCP curve that all the dealers have at Day 1 . if I recall when I was offered a PCP the 3 year value was down at about £45k .... !!
Anyway in my opinion what is making this car struggle in the U.K. is the misunderstanding by people who have never driven the car and think it’s simply a manual 911.... and this won’t change for a long time ... it’s a real shame as it’s probably the best usable drivers 911 by far ..
What I love is what I see on the US and international forums, where the cars appear to be well loved with many cars modded with new exhausts, tuned, classic wheels and most of all DRIVEN ......a car that isn’t the dentists 911 GTS, but a car that harks back to the water cooled cars, but with its bang up to date mechanicals, narrow body , traditional gauges and google maps ...!!!
It’s actually incomparable to any other 911..... and that’s it’s strongest point ...
But as the previous poster said .... why would you give the dealer 10k and then let someone else buy a classic and never suffer any depreciation ..(apart from the dealers commission) .. The T should be a legacy car ... like a Rolex .. you never own it you just pass it on to your next generation .... !
It’s been a few years since I had a 911 and Must say I do like the thought of buying a manual T as my next daily to replace my Manual box M4. Saying that, At retail price I.e. £70/£75K they just seem too expensive. However at apparent trade money of low £60’s they do. Given it would be a daily a “high miler” (7K lol) would be a good starting point anyway!
TBH never driven one yet but I suspect as a car/driving experience it will be closer to my old 993 than my 996 Turbos?

Selfishly I bloody hope so
a 911 T with PCCBs, buckets and light weight glass for £45k.... yes please!

What is it with guys on here owning multiple Rs at the same time? You must be the 4th I've encountered recently.
I do think the 991 T is a bit of an enigma.
Never quite sure whether it was meant to be a base entry model, as Ts were in the 60s and 70s, or a budget ‘drivers’ model.
If the latter, then I would have expected a more focussed CS type spec, with limited options.
For me, it could be attractive as a regular road car, at the right price and spec point - but, that would be in the £60ks, otherwise it is too close to a brand new base 992.
Never seen one in my preferred spec - GT silver or Graphite, man or PDK, with sports seats and pccbs.
av185 said:
The T was another one of those cars where the spec is crucial especially if you sold in the first year. Overspecced cars with PDK sun roof rws and other ott expensive options defeat the whole purpose of the car and could never be recouped residually as many found out to their cost. The Bramley car is a prime example and to spec a T to over £100k + is financial suicide unless the cars a medium or long term keeper.
.
Yep this is spot on, it was launched as the low cost, no frills (entry level), drivers car, therefore specing one so highly, somewhat defeated the point.
Residuals were further not helped by some discounting, chap at work got £10k off a brand new one last year, (all be it was a cancelled order).

Less is more
This is true on two levels.
Firstly all you really need on the T is T pack lightweight glass (no cost option) and manual gearbox. Yes ceramics and buckets give weight advantages but are very expensive relative to the cars price point and imo not worth it on this car and the cost will never be recouped on resale. But if you can find a used car with both options and really want them they are great value.
Secondly less is more in terms of production numbers and should guarantee future desirability. Remember only 176 UK manual Ts were made which means these cars will become increasingly rare as owners hold on to them and fewer will come to market in a similar way to the 997 GTS manual which resulted in used prices staying around list ££ even for up to 7 years old examples.
Like the T, the naysayers of course slated the 997 GTS on introduction as being simply a more expensive but slightly more powerful wide bodied C2S with a hush puppy interior but in reality and not unlike the T the 997 GTS amounts to a car which is way more the sum of its parts and as a consequence residuals are still strong ££ despite coming off latter day highs.
Surely the new 718 4.0/6 cyl GTS is going to put further pressure on T residuals - brand new car with sublime chassis, engine and manual gearbox for the price of a 2 year old T ?
Surely this thread will have the desired effect. Someone will bag this T for a very reasonable mid 60's price and the seller will get a few more K than Opc offers. All offers at the moment are low as no one appears to be buying stock. Been a very slow market now since last spring.
Been reading a similar thread in relation to a one owner great spec low mileage 987 Boxster Spyder. Only been offered 29k car by dealer for a 40k+ car.
Not a good time to sell.
Having owned a manual T from new and used it in all
weathers I am completely happy don’t care how much it’s worth since I don’t intend selling it.
The model was never about light weight (10kgs)
and trying to spec it as a scaled down GT3 is missing the point. For one thing the engine shortcomings are all to apparent on track but provide a responsive
and enjoyable road car more so than the S engine
which has larger but slower turbo spooling.
Before thinking buckets are the must have seating
try getting in and out in the average multi storey car park. S brakes would’ve been a useful addition but
why PCCBs other than nice calliper paint.
The T along with few other recent 911s offered
a distinctive ownership opportunity outside of the GT and related exotic models only available to the selected few

I agree on the PCCB's. My perfect spec on one of these would be manual with rear seat delete, light weight glass and buckets - i think its a baby Gt3 touring thats more usable and in time could hold its value pretty well.
Pccbs are a personal choice, but having had them in the past, they definitely provide benefits, and I think they would be ideally suited to the ‘T’ ethos.

Used Ts actually sell better with comforts and rear seats which can always be removed.
The reason perspex or lightweight glass is best optioned is not so much for the minimal weight advantages but that the engine and sports exhaust sound is more audible within the cabin.
New Cayman GTS will be string competition for a used 911 T as a drivers choice in the £70k area. I know it’s not a 911 and only two seats etc but no question which one has got the drivers engine.
Fair point C but I'd say folks will always pay more for a 911 which effectively has no ceiling price ££ whereas a Cayman has.
As already mentioned the 911 will always be the guvnor.

Have you driven a T? I was knocked out by the T compared with my previous 991.1 GTS. It may have been the manual box but it seemed to rev much more readily and it felt like an agile, fast car. Which it is! The GTS 4.00 will be very good too, I'm sure, but at very similar price points, which would you choose? And no-one has driven one yet...

Probably has a private plate on at the moment and the seller will revert to the original once sold hence original plate is not showing up on a search.

Shame about the yellow stitching though.

colours work great together :-)
Suppose yellow stitching with guards red is slightly less horrific than red stitching with miami but only just lol.
Great to find one with buckets and big brakes if you’re potentially looking to modify.
The red and the yellow bits are not to my personal taste, but others seem to quite taken by these.
Things can be changed. I was at Litchfield motors recently and their T has been wrapped to a lovely metallic green finish. Very nice indeed.

I personally think that LW glass does bugger all apart from depriving you of a heated rear window (IIRC).
The lightweight glass simply adds to the engine noise in the cabin which has far more significance than the minimal weight saving.
The 911 T for sale on pistonheads is mine..........
You are welcome to check out my instagram @mylespoulton along with the other cars in my collection which shows WN18 being picked up brand new from Porsche Bristol not surprisingly it is now on a PP
Please don't publish this unfounded defamatory rubbish if you don't have the facts

My comment was an 'I personally think...'. Mine has privacy glass. I get all the engine noise I need and the sound is just great - far better than I expected from a 3.0 turbo motor; in fact at least as good as my 997.2 3.6. (And OK not as good as my 993.)

Good luck with the sale .... Someone will be getting a great car ...
Bit of a thread resurrection........
Has the T seen a bit of a recovery on pricing and starting to stabilise at these high prices.

Agreed this looks lovely - but I think the pricing is about right vs. The opc network as presumably doesn’t have any opc warranty

I like the idea of Porsche making the car a bit more distinctive, eg carbon bonnet and 6-sp gearbox, but don't see the logic in denying the opportunity to option in stuff: the 'enthusiasts' that allegedly formed the market for this car could simply have ignored the options list and specced the car lean.
Anyway, my car has Sport Chrono AND the clock on the dash and, touch wood, no rattles.

I specced my Guards red 'manuel' T with T pack and that was it.
Sold it in 2019 2k miles for list price ££ through my OPC and it sold immediately whereas a newer lower meleage high spec black pdk T with sunroof rws and a list price well north of £100k hung around for ages at £92k.

Porsche's Biggest Mistake? Why The 2018 911 Carrera T Failed To Sell
Bizarre he praises the Ts obvious and infamous weakest area being the gearbox which is way too vague in the upper ratios.
The 991.2 GT3 was £111k basic. Not over £120k as he claims. 992 GT3 currently £135700 basic although a price increase looks due again soon following the 718 GT4 (and Spyder) fourth increase over production run? and very recent price increase to £81700 basic.

Anyone know what this sold for?
Missed the car had meetings all day unfortunately.
Not the best spec esp with PDK colour and sunroof, 4 owners too needed 4 tyres and major 4 year £2300 service plus warranty.
Would have thought top £60ks would have bought it making c £75k all in price with indemnity.
