Having decided that the extra £25K I have to spend to change my 996 to a decent 997 will not give me much more of a car than my 996 (C2 yr 2000) - which is lighter than any other water cooled 911 and does not smell of depreciation.

Hi Having decided that the extra £25K I have to spend to change my 996 to a decent 997 will not give me much more of a car than my 996 (C2 yr 2000) - which is lighter than any other water cooled 911 and does not smell of depreciation. I can justify spending/blowing the money I would lose in year one of 997 ownership/depreciation. I am thinking about a nice sound system with modern sat nav & iPod connect and whilst I have a standard CDR I understand that the temp controls can be moved down to replace the CD storage rack and a double DIN system may be fitted in its and the old CD's slots... any suggestions on which system would be best and which amp/speaker combination works well in the 996? Whilst I am on my exhaust baffles are, of course, loose, any suggestions on which silencers to replace them? I would like a bit more noise... thank you

I have come to the same conclusion, but instead intend to add to my art collection. It's dynamic art (with a wheel in each corner).
