Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reason...when the window is tinted they use water for the tint to adhere.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I took my car into the dealer today because it was idling roughly on cold start-up....around 400rpm. Warm starts it fired right up to a smooth 800rpm.
He remapped the ECU, told me "we'll see" if it works.
But my salesman (remember my transmission story you all??) said "Hey, want it tinted?" I said how much, he said "on us."
So now I have a nice dark window tint job, done by "his guy"....for free!
YAY for me....thought I'd share that with you all.

EEK! I just fired off an e-mail to my dealer! If my own dealer just voided my warranty, well....I certianly hope not! <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />
I was told the following....MBZ is will not warrenty window motors if windows have been tinted. Reason...when the window is tinted they use water for the tint to adhere. when the squeegy the water, it drips down the inner door panel onto the window motor, causing corrision....and bammmmmmm......it will not be covered under warrenty!...

Does this mean that rain or car wash water doesn't go into the door? If so, why do auto manufacturers have drains in the bottoms of doors.
Viken,
good question. I was told that water dripping from the inside of the window results in the corrosion.....water cannot get to the motor if it drips from the outside of the window! I was floored!!!

That is total BS. Water from both inside and outside the window (while it is up), would end-up in the same place inside the door. Sorry, but MB has no leg to stand on.
total bs is right......and mbz will NOT do anything....heard the same story from 2 differnt dealers and the factory rep for each dealer. dealers were about 90 miles apart, so each had a differnt rep!...If the Dealer wants to goodwill it, that is up to them
Agreed. MBZ would not do this, but a weasel of a dealer might create trouble.
My local dealer owner (son of the owner, now he's the chief) gets his personal Benz done in Limo Tint. The car is so dark it's ridiculous. Also no badging.
Then he sells it one year later. With complete factory warranty in tact.
I smell a rat.
I don't believe 2 dealers would have the exact same story.. and I spoke with 2 differnt Factory reps....same story!
Here is the scary part!.My family and I have bought 3 jags, 4 mbz's 1 porsche from the dealer!!!(read never again) Oh yea did i mention I am in the auto biz!....see sometimes crap just happens.
End result was this, I replaced the motor....434.00 sold the car, and will never do biz with that dealer for anyreason
