Just with my jack, I can't get a decent tool on this, wanting to try to tighten these screws.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

'05 Boxster 987.1. 111K Miles now. I saw this earlier this summer. Now that I want to put her down for the season, I see this again. I'm trying to identify this port-a small rectangular port near the oil filter. I'm getting a few drops of coolant per day on the floor. Just with my jack, I can't get a decent tool on this, wanting to try to tighten these screws. I'd need to get it up higher, remove a panel to get at it. Any clues as to what this is? I searched for it on some diagrams but could not find it. New pics here. The left is the rear of the car, left side. dirty plate with 2 Torx Bottom 2 pics here are with a lot of the gunk cleaned off. I can almost read the text on the cover. Again, left side of the engine from the rear.

POST 2Original post

Just a sort of general comment. Where you see the "drip" actually is rarely the source of the leak. Water/coolant travels down due to gravity. All the drip confirms is the leak isn't below it. I think you'll have to do some exploring to find the actual source of the leak. Also - your photo really doesn't tell me where you're seeing the drip. Unless someone was laying under their car looking at your photo as they stare up at the bottom of their car, I doubt if they could locate where the drip is. Is this at the joint between the bell-housing and the rear of the engine?

POST 3Original post

yeah, I believe it is. Yeah, lying on my back, without removing the one panel leaves little space to really see the whole picture. I understand about coolant travel. I will try to find out more info but it may wait 'till spring as it's about time to put her to bed for the winter here.
