Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This blue & black plastic cylinder connects, on a vacuum line I believe, and goes to a 'Y' fitting near the oil filler cap. The nipple has broken off on one end so I can not connect the vacuum line hose to one end, I have tried gluing it to no avail. Can not find this part in the Katalog. Does anyone know what this is? Do I need to order a porsche part or is there an alternative?

POST 2Original post

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have ordered the part check valve, item 15. This partial diagram, shown below, is what the part supplier sent. I am not sure if this diagram as my vacuum hose don't seem to tie in exactly as this diagram. My model & year is a 88 944S.  Its totally possible that mine has been altered or has been mis-installed somewhere along the line, as its a 32 year old car. I do have the digital manual & katalog for my 1988 944,  but I have been unable to find this diagram, must be my age. Does anyone have the full diagram and associated part numbers/descriptions so I can confirm the vacuum lines are connected properly.

POST 6Original post

The diagram is not for a 944S ( not ) , but the part-number for the black and blue vacuum one way valve is correct & on the 944S and the 944S2 the vacuum one way valve is where you found it ( rear of engine ) and NOT at the brake booster

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
