Is there anything that I can do to have a MP3 connection and phone hand s free system fitted which works through the Amp as I dont want to lose the great sound when playing the MP3 player

Hi Guys I have today taken my 996 / 2002 (52 plate) to have a parrot hands free phone system fitted with Iphone connection . The fitters tell me that I have a Bose 2005 system fitted to the car ( seems strange) and not a 2002 system. They tell me that the Parrot system will not work throught the Bose amplifier it is fitted after the Amp. this means that the I Phone MP3 player will not work throught the Amp. Is there anything that I can do to have a MP3 connection and phone hand s free system fitted which works through the Amp as I dont want to lose the great sound when playing the MP3 player Please Help if you have any answers. :?: Regards Steve M

If it is a late 2002 car it will be the MOST fibre optic connections. In that case you will need something like the Dension Gateway 500: http://www.dension.com/index.php?pageID=11 http://www.dension.com/index.php?pageID=45 This works for PCM2, but if you have a CDR23, I'm not sure the Bluetooth module can be added. I believe MoBridge do something similar, but I have no experience of them. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I had a similar issue on my Turbo where the headunit died and I wanted to replace it with iPod connectivity. Turned into an expensive job as I had to rewire the car and fit a new amp as well as a headunit. Does sound better though (as long as I don't think about the price). I think there are lots of threads on this topic if you have a search.
