Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You guys are killing me ROTFL! You cannot believe how spot on you all are! I actually went to the dealer today expecting to see my car. I found out that it came off the vessel and was at Pier 31 waiting to be delivered to the dealer. He told me it would not be till Tuesday, but I wanted to meet the service manager before my car got there anyway. I got his confirmation that NO HOLES would be drilled in the front bumper.
My car was not there yet so after drooling over some Boxsters and 911's I reluctantly left. I started home and thought to myself/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/lightbulb.gif WAIT, if the car is at pier 31 why not go find it! Great idea!/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif So I proceeded down Nimitz Hwy to Pier 31, was I ever excited!! I saw CARS lots of them all new and just off the boat. As I got closer to the yard a guard stepped out of nowhere and put his arms up and said STOP! I was in my P/U truck which is a commercial vehicle, and he asked what can he help me with. I did have all my camera equipment in the front seat and the first thing that came to mind was,
'I am the photographer for Porsche and I am here o photograph the new Caymans that just came off the boat'.
He had a register with him and he looked down at the register and said, ' I don' show anything like that here, no one called me', I replied well I was in touch with Pasha and they told me I could come down and take photos once the cars were off loaded. HE repeated again sorry there is nothing here for that, and the Pasha inspector just left. He said you will have to turn around and go back out, I actually begged at this point,
'can I just park over there by the fence and stay out of the yard and look for the cars'?
He said I am going to ask you to leave now, I decided I wasn't going to get anywhere and said OK.
I pulled way forward to turn around still hoping to catch a glimpse of my car somewhere, but there were too many SUV's in the way to see anything. As I approached the guard on my way out another car was at the entrance talking with the guard and as I got near he got out of his car and stopped me from leaving to ask 'who are you with, I am the inspector for Pasha'. I thought oh crap this is getting sticking now. I broke down and said, I am a desperate Cayman S owner dying to catch a peek at his car. He smiled and said politely, I can't let anyone in there I am sorry.
Well you cannot say I didn't try! I left with my tail between my legs. I will have to wait for tomorrow, and hopefully get to see it before the PDI, however if I think that will hold them up at all I will not bug them.
Russ
mpollard,
I was so close I could smell that little Cayman! That was the hardest part, being close to it and not being able to see it. I thought that I either leave pretty soon or these guys are going to call the cops and get me to leave. The thought did flash through my mind to go park somewhere and sneak back on foot with camera in hand, but I decided to come home and see you guys instead. My wifes thinks I have completely lost it, and she might be right! I don't WANT my car, I NEED MY CAR!
Russ Out (looking for my meds)/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/help.gif
Russ; Pray that your dealer will call you as soon as your car arrives off the truck so you can RUN down and see it fresh off the truck. I was lucky enuf to get that call. By the time I made the dealer (2.5 hrs) the car was off the truck and at the dealer for prep. At least I got to see it, feel it, smell it, DRIVE it, and then left with the anxiety of the wait until pickup time.........TUES AM!!!!!!!
Russ,
Next time tell them you are me and as long as they haven't seen my post office picture that might work... better luck next time, and I'll be expecting pics from you tomorrow...
Pier 31 eh? Now what did I do with my all-access pass to Pier 31??? under this stack of papers??? ...
K-Man S, I should have said I was the executive photographer for the prestigious Cayman Club, and was on strict assignment to get Pictures of the newly arrived Cayman for the Clubs website!
Chuck, Pier 31 is 5 minutes from the dealer, it is even on the same street. I am 7 minutes from the dealer, so it should happen fast and when it does I will be ready! For some reason I don't think my dealership is quite as friendly as yours. The manager did tell me that the service department deplores customers hanging around there while they are trying to do the prep. He told me that he has had customer go into the service area and start doing the prep themselves! He also said being invisible goes a long way with the service manager, so I am counting on my salesman to call me when the car comes in so I can get some preprep photos, but if he doesn't and they are on that car fast getting it ready for me, I won't complain.
Russ
Hi Guys.
Apologies, but I have been off site for a while. Please can you explain your reference to the dealers drilling holes in the front bumpers? I am picking my Cayman up, hopefully on Sat (ordered in June). I am petrified that I am going to take delivery of my baby with holes in it....
Thanks.
KaymanUAE,
The holes that we are referring to are the holes for the license plate frame. Most of us will not put a front license plate on the car as it really ruins the beauty of the front. Look at the photos owners have placed on this site and you will not see many if any front plates. If you do not requestof your dealer to not drill the holes they will do it automatically. I am not sure what your country will require. Hope that helps!
Good Luck, Russ
KaymanUAE,
No matter with a front plate or not, the car is beautiful!Hope you get yours on Saturday, and please share some pics and stories with us!
Aloha Russ/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/beer2.gif
KaymanUAE
I also have no choice as my country requires plates front and rear.
The front one will be in the boot,if the police pull me I will say it just fell off,I will fit it back when I get home.

It is almost 4pm and the car is still not at the dealers. They said that they were bringing it up this afternoon. I called about an hour ago and he said ADT was picking it up, and he would call as soon as it got there, no call yet? I hate to keep bugging these guys, but what the heck, 5 more minutes and I am calling back.
Russ Growing Impatient!
Russ, go get an early dinner and drink at your favorite Mexican joint. Come home play with the dog and don't touch the phone until tomorrow. Relax Christmas cannot be hurried./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif
