Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

when it does it if possible stop the car and get out and check the number to see if the number plate lights are on , if they aint then the headlight switch has gone faulty and you will be requiring a new unit, the internals dont contact fully

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

anybody know why my dashboard lights keep going out?
one minute they work - then they don't. Fuses are all ok, and it's only just started happening.
Sometimes they'll go out after having the headlights on for a while, sometimes they won't come on as soon as I switch the headlights on..???
Is it a known issue, or could it be the ole' - 'dodgy connection guv'?
needing help solutions please...!!!!
huh? :dont know:
Do you mean a dodgy connection on the back of the switch that tells the dash lights to come on?
Not thought of that - I could investigate....
My odometer light is intermittant. The clock and speedo lights are working
and the odometer itself is working just not the light. have checked all the
obvious connections and it doesn't seem to be a bumpy road that triggers it.
Any ideas :dont know:

If you do need a new one, it's worth a look on e-bay etc.
The part is shared with the Boxster, so there are usually spares around. I only paid £15 + delivery from a breaker - and it's a doddle to fit
Just to say thanks to all who helped the diagnosis of this problem. Fitted a new headlight main switch today - and all good!! :thumb:
