Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an intermittent problem. Some times when I lower the top the glass rear does not go down properly and causes the top to be stuck open 5 inch before slowly closing itself with a pop. I have been solving the problem by opening the top up a bit then shutting it again and it usually closes properly after that. I am thinking something has to be adjusted. Anybody else had this problem ?

POST 2Original post

Maybe needs lubrication. I would start with that as its cheap and easy to eliminate. Had a similar issue a few months ago. Lubricated everything with silicon spray (Simoniz Back to Black) and its been fine since.

POST 3Original post

Like Fatbloke said, you might need to lubricate the track. There could be some binding going on there. The arm that controls the top has a rubber bushing that could have gone bad and that too can be causing some binding issues. I suggest you look down in there soon and see what's happening. It could get ugly if you neglect it.
