This lower offset would probably give me the look I would like, BUT the I would need a 15 mm adapter to use the wheels as the lug pattern is different.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for some second opinions on wheel sizing/fitment on my boxster. Current wheel size is the OEM S wheel, 17x7 front +55et and 17x8.5 rear +48et. The wheels I am looking into are a 17x8 and 17x9 +40 et. I calculated that the distance from the hub to the outside edge will increase by about 1" in the front and a 1/2" inch in the rear in comparison to the OEM wheel. This lower offset would probably give me the look I would like, BUT the I would need a 15 mm adapter to use the wheels as the lug pattern is different. So my question is, do you think the extra 15mm for the adapter is going to sit the wheel out too far? Or will it be some what reasonable? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

Yes it will be too far out. Search for wheels with the Porsche lug pattern and correct offset for the best fit and function.
