Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

At my last service at the local Indy I was advised that the springs were corroded and was recommended to change them. I have had a look at Design 911 and Porscheshop websites. They do not have standard springs only uprated springs that lower the car by 30mm. Is it best to replace with standard springs or springs that lower the car by 30mm.

POST 2Original post

standard springs were fairly original 30mm lowered isn't that much but you'll notice a difference worth doing the swap if the current set are past it, also the suspension adjustment should also work wonders on the ride

POST 3Original post

It's a big change to looks, ride height, and the geo needs resetting. 30mm is a long way down and very close to the road Consider speed bumps and steep drives and avoid half mounting kerbs Worth it? Yes.

POST 4Original post

How many miles on your current dampers, is it worth upgrading to the M030 kit? this will reduce ride height by only 10mm as well as giving you fresh dampers and uprated anti-roll bars, good value at £650 for the kit but an expensive way of sorting out what is probably just a bit of surface corrosion!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Since my post the indy has recommended the M030 kit as its good value and lowers the car by 10mm as he thinks that 30mm is a bit too much. Car is on original dampers and spring and has done 103,000 Miles so the suspension probably needs a refresh. When its done I will drive the car for about 100 miles and then have the geo reset.

POST 6Original post

I have to agree it's time to change the legs and springs fitted. It's only a matter of time before the dampers fail with fresh springs Got to say I'd never go higher than my current -30mm it's just so much better down there.
