I check the forum out frequently and find it very informative with some great banter at times between members!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, this is my first post but i've had my 1999 carrara 4 for nearly a year now. I check the forum out frequently and find it very informative with some great banter at times between members!
I just wanted to say this is is my first Porsche and WOW what a car. I've had integra type R's, nissan skyline GTR'S, 350Z, Audi S3, lotus elise etc, but none of them give you the special feeling the Porsche does. I use the car everyday for work, i've done 3 track days so far, and have just come back from a camping weekend in cornwall with my partner. No other car i've had can be parked outside the Hilton one weekend, on the race track the next, get me to work on the Mon and do them all so well!
Ill get some pictures up soon but the car hasn't stood still long enough, i've been to busy enjoying driving it!
Hardly useless without pics - i think the point is someone is genuinely happy with the 996 and isnt it great to hear such things. I say good news and great for sharing !!
Its not as if the discussion is based on 'my new wheels' etc and I think we know what a 996 C4 looks like?
All great news and some dilutive stats for the usual horror stories, but come on, a year of ownership and no photo (or none posted).
I seem to take a photo almost every time I go out in mine, modify or fix some aspect of it.
I hope if the OP has a family he takes some photos before the kids graduate!
Sorry, just cataloging things that may be useful at some time.
The right picture is worth a thousand words on one of these forums.

And yes, I get that it is just another 911 to you, but for pwilson it is his FIRST, his ONLY and he seems to be in awe of it.
I just find it hard to believe he hasn't posted any photos.
I bitterly regret posting the thoughtless and crass emoticon guy holding up a "This thread is useless without pics" sign. I just wish 911UK had an emoticon saying "Well done for buying yet another 996 C4".
I could, of course, post the list of work my 996 needs...like bursting his bubble with an exocet. I would, but my fingers would probably wear out doing all that typing.
:help:
Me too (the Nissan and Honda). Both great cars - the Nissan was ridiculous fun, so easy to get the back-end out in the wet and so controllable, and the Honda was just utterly glued to the road and that engine - 9,000rpm... :worship:
Good to see you're enjoying 996 ownership - me too...
