I also installed a custom made X pipe that made the two pipes cross each other not just a union in a little surface, in the inside you can ear a sound like bubbling but in the outside not

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys, it's time for me to replace my clutch!!! I Have a '02 996 c2, thinking about a clutchmaster FX100 stage 1, is that a good choice? Should i replace my flywheel too or can it be resurfaced? If not thinking about a LWFW, and what would be a reasonable price for the job? What should i expect to pay?? Some help please..... Thanks!
Hi guys! This is the powerfull sound of my 4.3L Aston Martin V8 Vantage after upgrade the entire exhaust system with RSC Tuning Sport headers and Sport cats and also with a Quicksilver Supert sport rear muffler plus a custom made center X pipe.
The car now sounds like a real race car and everybody turns when driving around town. The police also stoped me and reprend me because they thing Im were racing because of the high sound
For this reason I buy also a new Quicksilver Sport rear muffler and don´t know if should change it to reduce noise level and problems with police or sell it and stay the car this way but at lasy I thing Im gonna keep the Super sport and sell it.
The car gained a good number of HP, I think could be about 54,5HP If we see what Bamford Rose say, with headers and Sport cats we can gain 41Hp, then the 3,5HP that also Bamford Rose said about the rear muffler gains plus the 10HP that the X Pipe could gain if we compare it with the center section of RSFabrication.
Anyway I installed also a pair of K&N Filters and a Lightweight Single mass flywheel with a dual disc ceramic clutch so the car is a lot off more reponsive and powerfull so the gain is a lot of more.
The ceramic clutch have a hard engagement even with the tune of the centralite of the Sportshift, its almost the same as the original but Im gona resurface it with Kevlar that supose to be as soft as the organic. Hope the damm vibrations of the original disapear at least
Here is the link to see the video, hope you enjoy it! smile

Please coment whats your opinion about it wink
i am nearing same point. as to LWFW- unless you track alot, dont.
as you will find out if you search, look hard at RMS and IMS. if there is any leaking, replace. it really isn't that expensive, once the tranny is out.
good luck.

Hola Marcos, esa arrancada, puff como suena no lo cambies, esta que te cagas, el mejor sonido sin duda que puedes tener.
un 10
the best sound you can hear, the sound output is wonderful for the ears

I am curious. What kind of mileage did you achieve with your current clutch? I am currently at 45K on the original clutch (99 C2), and suspect I will require a new clutch setup somewhere in the 60K range.
Wow, that sounds insane with the new exhaust. And 54 HP, really?! Just from exhaust? Are they assuming crank, or wheel horsepower? 54 whp would be an insane (insanely impossible?) gain from exhaust alone.
i up to 85k mi. i am trying to confirm that it was replaced at 30k 5 yrs ago.
the clutch is hard, but grabs well. it seems the RMS may be "weeping" so i will continue to watch it over the next few months.

Hi men! Thank you, I like you enjoyed the sound!
Well, thats just repeating what Bamford Rose specialist say that the car with the 4.1 Headers and 100 cells Sport Cats gains 41HP, also he says that a high flow rear muffler gains 3,5HP plus RSFabricatin says their center X pipe gains 10HP all made 54,5Hp but sinceresly I didn´t dyno the car and have no idea of the real gain that should be in the crankcase as you say.
I have also a Porsche BoxsterS 3.2L of 252HP equiped with a full exhaust system from Designtek, 3.1 Headers, 200 cells Cats and Sport muffler and they said all together gain 22Hp so sounds similar if the Aston starts from 389HP but as happen in the Aston I didn´t dyno it and bothe, the Aston and the Porsche have more modifications so is impossible to know if that is just for publicity or is true..

Check your clutch helper spring under your dash. Mine had the same feeling for awhile and spring broke into three pieces at 55,000 miles. I replaced this $50 part and the clutch felt much better. I'm still on the original clutch with 61,000 miles.

I'm at 63k, i noticed at higher rev slips. It was ok for last year or so but recently i've been hard on the clutch and now i;m starting to feel he slip even more! I think the last HOTDOG run i did leave'n the parking pushed it over...Damn It!!!
The headers and X-pipe combo sound amazing. I would do the 2nd cat bypass and X-pipe but keep stock Vantage S cat back for optimal sound and maintaining valves. Doing exhaust valve Mild2Wild integrated into the rear view mirror garage door opener would also be a cool Bond style stealth touch too.
Just buy an OEM Factory Clutch Kit from Suncoast and no need to repalce the Fly Wheels unless you want Lighter... OEM Clutch kit is more than enough for N/A cars..
Looks like 60K is about right. 15K to go; as long I don't hotdog it. I do intend to address the RMS issue defective or not at 60K as well. Can so one chime in on the number of labor hours required to replace the clutch. I have been quoted $1,800 parts/labor when I had a PPI. The quote seems a bit high.

Thank you! I lie you enjoyed the sound but I cant understand what this mean..

You can get a radio frequency transmitter (Mild2Wild) to control the Fuse 22 so that you can control when the valves are open or not. And because it's a radio frequency transmitter you can program it into your garage door opener buttons on your review mirror just like your garage door opener. It's a pretty cool stealthy way to control your valves.
Obviously this only applies on an OEM exhaust. Once you get aftermarket this is no longer an option (unless you have an aftermarket unit with radio frequency controller, then you can program into homelink garage door buttons)

NOWAY!!! I've been checking around where i live in Atlanta, GA. and i found a shop in the city of Marietta (for those who live here in GA. this is great!!) Automobileatlanta, they said to replace the clutch on 2002 996 c2 would cost $630. labor only. If the RMS is leaking then extra $30 no more labor cost on top of that. They also said 70% of the time the flywheel needs to be replaced.
I know that you can resurface the flywheel but however being that it's a dual mass flywheel it is not recommended. Through my reserch i also found out that it requires a different machine to resurface such a flywheel as opposed to the standard flywheel. I know a couple the machine shops i called around here said they won't do it. As for my ride i will go with a clutch master stage 1
and a Luk (oem) flywheel the LWFW not good for street use. It's $887.25 for clutch kit @ horsepowerfreaks.com---A Luk flywheel $660.61 @ thefind.com---and $660. for labor, give/take another $100. for shop supplies and taxs, its about $2310.00. I'd probably do better if i go Sachs clutch kit and Flywheel but i want better stuff or at least i think its better..... hey i'm cool with it.
+1 Zookie....
The RMS replacement is not a big deal... actually the new seal is an up grade and it is right there... some folks oughta have a look when the work is done.... RMS leaking have been around as long as cars have been... most people don't even realize theirs is weeping... and that's usually all it does.... making a mountain outta a mole hill!!
Here is anothe video of the car sound
RSC Headers and Cats, custom X-pipe, Quicksilver super sport rear muffler..maybe too much and should installe the other Quicksilver Sport to be more city friendly but Im gonna keep this one so if someone is interested in the Sport PM

Well done Marcos! You have convinced me to open mine up more!
Factory Sport rear muffler, 100 cell cats and fuse removed is nice but I'm gonna turn it up a notch
I too have RSC headers, 200 cell cats and quicksilver super sports exhaust. A friend took a sound meter reading recently. 76 decibels at idle and 117 decibels when I blipped the throttle. I guess that's kinda loud.
