Has anyone tracked down a workshop manual?
I think they're only available on CD/DVD/s.
I know that in older Porsche like the 80-90s you can get workshop manuals in actual paper but I haven't seen a workshop manual for the newer ones. It is probably all on the computer.
I recently downloaded a 2005-2008 Cayman Workshop Manual from here:
Porsche Cayman 2005-2008 Workshop Service Repair Manual - Download Technical
I was a little dubious given the rather low price ($10.99 USD), but it seems to be quite complete, and looks like excerpts from the official Porsche Workshop manual I have seen.
Interesting. I had come across this link in the past and assumed (given the price) that it was bogus. Looks like I'll be picking it up.
I'm shocked that Haynes, and even Chilton, make nothing for this car. Chilton in fact, no longer even includes Porsche in their European Cars manual.
OK, this is pretty good info for $10. I just wish there was a master page with a TOC to tie it all together for searching and such.
I have a Porsche Shop Manaul dated July 2007 as a PDF file. Suspect that it cover all Gen 1 Caymans, and lots of parts on the Gen 2 as well. File size 681 MB covers 5,278 pages!
Send me your Email address and I will send it to you as a file attachment. My Email is

John, I just sent you an email asking for the PDF, thanks very much. I bought the manual from tradebit too, but I never could get it to open, even after downloading the latest Adobe upgrade and the other software recommended to allow it to open.
John
I'd be very grateful of that manual. I'll send you my email address.
Thanks
Gary
It'll be a long wait. John passed away about a year ago. Great guy.
Sorry to hear that. Thanks for the update.
Just FYI, for anyone looking at this convo, I did just (1-20-2020) order the manual that KS-CS mentioned back in 2011. Price has jumped up to $14.95 USD and I was successful downloading it from supplied link above. After extracting the .rar file that I downloaded, the manual seems to be all there and is quite useful though you have to manually search around within the various sections. Better than the "no manual" situation I was in!
