I had mine done despite the alert resolving itself after a restart but was a well documented problem and I had no issue getting the repair done"

Suggestion
This was apparently happening a lot on early PDK models, so Porsche spent a lot of time researching the issue as they were replacing huge amounts of PDK units.

Hi gents, i'm looking for some help as to possible / probable issues with my 997.2 pdk please.
Got home last night from about 2 miles away and parked in the garage with nothing seemingly
wrong then this morning started the car for its usual 12 mile trip to work and went to put it in
reverse but the gear shift wouldn't move and this error message appeared. Does anyone have any
thoughts as to cause ?
No not checked the voltage at all. Did disconnect the battery and re-connect to try to reset but that was useless
so will check the voltage tomorrow.

"I've has this exact issue on my C4S 997.2 and was all fixed under warranty. It's essentially an over sensitive oil sump temp sensor. This was apparently happening a lot on early PDK models, so Porsche spent a lot of time researching the issue as they were replacing huge amounts of PDK units. This resulted in them developing a repair kit. I had mine done despite the alert resolving itself after a restart but was a well documented problem and I had no issue getting the repair done"
"I think it would tend to happen as it did for me when the car is up to operating temp,
being driven sedately and then you accelerate hard, if the gearbox temp jumps too quickly for the sensor then it generates this issue

Thanks Peter, that's really interesting. My car is a C4s and i've owned it for 8 years without
any real problems but it is a 2009 car and used daily with 56k on the clock so this could be
a possible cause.
It's probably worth a call to my local porsche dealer then to see what they say.
