Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I always thought the air filter cartridge was a little wobbly in my car, with it being only held in place by popping on the intake... I never knew until today, while reading an air filter replacement procedure, that I was missing a part !!! I'm missing the part that attaches to the air filter cartridge itself and allows the end of the filter to be *screwed onto* the airbox. Light bulb! I don't have a recent PET, can anyone tell me the part # for this ? [Edit:] Lazy bugger.... Found PET online on Porsche's site, not as easy to find as you'd like, but... it's called a mounting plate for the air filter 987 110 134 00 Ok then ! $12 from suncoast... Wouldn't be too bad if I had not ordered 6 coils and plugs at the same time ;-)

POST 2Original post

Did you buy your car new or used? (Maybe previous owner threw out the part with old filter?) Have fun changing your plugs/coils - makes installing the air filter (which most people find a bit frustrating) seem like a piece of cake.

POST 3Original post

How often do you have to change the air filter. I just bought a Cayman have not a clue where the air filter is?
