I imagine that could have happened when they refilled my coolant and bled the bubbles, when my water pump was replaced a few months ago.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

As you know there are 2 coolant caps in the car, one near the oil filler in the trunk, and one under the engine cover... That one, under the cover, shows traces of an old leak... I imagine that could have happened when they refilled my coolant and bled the bubbles, when my water pump was replaced a few months ago. The coolant level is fine, no change, no worries... But just in case, I'd like to replace that coolant cap with a fresh one. The current part # is 996 106 447 01 I was wondering if there is a newer part that is better - those things are known to leak sometimes, and if that is so, I'd like to order the better one. Thanks !
