Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

These units are known to sometimes have a problem with the contacts between the faceplate and main unit, so it would be worthwhile to pull the faceplate and clean the contacts with alcohol.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently bought a Porche Boxster 3.2S (2002)that has a Becker CR22 radio/cassette/CD changer installed. The car did not come with an audio manual so I am having difficulty programming the stations. To add to the problem the display screen does not illuminate in daylight and in night time only pushes out a very dim red colour with no actual display on the screen. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

POST 2Original post

To program a station, with station playing, press button 1-10 for 2-4 seconds. Regarding display illumination, this sounds like there's a problem. There's no adjustment I can find in the manual. These units are known to sometimes have a problem with the contacts between the faceplate and main unit, so it would be worthwhile to pull the faceplate and clean the contacts with alcohol. The faceplate can be removed by pressing and holding the button that has a curved arrow to the right. The display will fold down, and can be pulled out.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Clickman. Many thanks for the quick response. I will give the contacts a good clean tonight and see if that fixes the problem
