Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I just bought my 996 turbo last week. Really love the forum!! Have been reading on here for some time now. Just wondering how can I tell if I have PCM 2. My car is an 03 plate. I only ask because I want to fit a Dension 500 unit so I can connect my Ipod. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Hi 911TurboYaz, welcome to the forum. You have a PCM2.0 module in your car. This was an option for the 2003MY 996 onwards and replaced the previous option of PCM1.0. Any pics of your new car? Enjoy! ~ Maxie

POST 3Original post

Maxie - pics first, THEN he gets the answers to his questions...!! :hand:

POST 4Original post

Ahh yes, quite! After showing us your professional pics, Ant, will any one of us dare to post up anything at all when yours pretty blasted everything else into the water? ~ Maxie

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

FINE FINE!! HERE U GO!! Oh btw, is it anyones from on here by any chance?? As u've now noticed......IM HOPELESS WITH A CAMERA!!

POST 7Original post

Great looking car! Is that basalt black or a very dark green or grey? You have the full Aluminium Arctic kit in there too with the rear centre console in Aluminium; costly options when new. ~ Maxie

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys just another quicky, does the 996 turbo have an undertray under the engine??? Also, what is a good lightweight flywheel to get?

POST 10Original post

No. None of the 996's do. Can't help much with the LWF I'm afraid, but it might be worth searching some of the forums for GT3 flywheel changes. On the Mk2's it is a fairly common mod to exchange the Dual-Mass flywheel for a 964RS one IIRC.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
