Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, My Porsche Warranty on my 2003 996 TT expires at the end of next month and I am debating whether to renew this. The car has always been under OPC warranty and I personally think this is a very good selling point as you know the car has basically been looked after - as long as the OPC have done their job. I am not sure how much the renewal is but think it is around £1,100 per year. I don't even think Porsche will do a deal on this if I pay 2 years upfront - does anyone know how of whether any OPCs are more flexible on prices than others. A warranty is piece of mind and part of the running costs of owning a Porker. I was thinking about going to Warranty Direct but not sure about them although I do hear encouraging things about them. I know the 996s TT are pretty much bullitt proof but there is always that small risk that something could go wrong. Please let me know your thoughts. Cheers Nick By the way since i have had the warranty I have had a new disc changer, head unit and apparently Porsche spent £2,600 when it had its last major service just over a month ago - so could be value for money. Althought yet to see the warranty receipt as yet!!!

You save about £100 by doing two years rather than one. Some OPCs will waive the 111 point check cost (ie the initial £100), some won't. I personally would renew it. On a turbo it's almost a no brainer for me.
