Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I read through all other "high pitched noise" threads but none of them were the same as what is going on here.... very odd. It is a high pitched noise bet equated to like a mosquito buzzing, but louder. And it is coming from the front of the car. You can hear it with the windows up and blowers off. It happens with blowers on and off, so that has nothing to do with it. And it changes with the RPM, the higher the RPM the louder and more high pitched the noise gets. Which just confuses me why it sounds as if it is coming from the front, but the engine is in the opposite direction of the noise lol. Hopefully someone out here can help me!

POST 2Original post

Is the sound coming out of your radio speakers?

POST 3Original post

It does not seem as it is, ill try turning the system on and off and ill see. Is there something with them that'll change the pitch as engine rpm changes? Maybe to compensate for exhaust noise? The sound seems as if it is coming from the dashboard in the center.

POST 4Original post

I have a high pitch noise that I reported here and to the dealer. It is not very loud and it sounds like a computer hard drive getting up to speed, you have to listen for it due to it not being very audible. It does change with the revs and I only hear it in 3rd or 4th gear when accelerating. 1st and 2nd gear the engine note over powers the whine. It has been doing this for a long time and has not got any louder. The car was just checked out and came up with a clean bill of health. It does not sound like a belt.

POST 5Original post

I forgot to ad, I do not think it is coming from the speakers in my case.
