Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have had my Macan for around 6 months now and I thought it would be nice to upgrade my PCM 3.1 to run carplay.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have had my Macan for around 6 months now and I thought it would be nice to upgrade my PCM 3.1 to run carplay. Oh, and it is the same to upgrade any PCM3.1, so 991.1, 981, Cayenne, Panamera, etc.

POST 2Original post

Thanks Jeff for posting this. Its a pity that it requires an external box, it is a pity they didn't just incorporate the electronics onto one board that all fits within the PCM. Maybe it's a one size fits all solution they make a simple adapter board for various head units and get economies of scale on the main unit by being able to adapt to various head units. Regardless once the pain of installing it all is done it looks like in functions well.

POST 3Original post

just done this as well ... but in a 957 with pcm 3.0 carplay works really well, but ... not documented in that dipswitch #3 needs to be 'on' to work with pcm3, or off for pcm3.1. my pcm3, while having the aux port in the centre control, does not appear to be enabled in the pcm - i cant select aux input ... anyone know an indie in Brisbane that can code / enable it ?
