Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

That said, I would rather(actually do) use a bluetooth dongle and Torque Pro and Racing Meter for Torque Pro as a shift indicator:

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Can anyone confirm if the 987.2 has the same pin out as this— http://forums.********.com/rennforum...ift-light.html Hoping so — would like an easy way to connect up a shift light. Hoping to pull switched power, ground and tacho off it. Anyone know of any nice self wire OBD plugs? (Pref available in the UK) James

POST 2Original post

OBD -2 is a standards based spec but some pins are at the mfg's discretion including those pins that you need(Pin 9) so it may or may not work. But you may be in luck: http://forums.********.com/rennforu...nforums/996-forum/698213-looking-for-obd-connector-pin-out-info-rpm-signal.html That said, I would rather(actually do) use a bluetooth dongle and Torque Pro and Racing Meter for Torque Pro as a shift indicator:

POST 3Original post

Hi, I have an iOS phone — so no go for me. I believe the OBD is a standard however there are additional things like the tacho that are manufacturer specific. I am pretty sure that pin out works with the 987.1 but not the 987.2 . James

POST 4Original post

Harry's laptimer does have a shift indicator flash option...

POST 5Original post

I think those bluetooth or wifi obd2 app for phones are not real time

POST 6Original post

They are absolutely real time. There's maybe a slight lag(mS), but not that noticeable. How else could you use it as a shift light or for data acquisition if it wasn't real time?

POST 7Original post

To be honest I don't want to mount my phone or keep it on for something so simple. Much prefer something a bit more "analog"

POST 8Original post

I had dashcomment and Rev app for Iphone . That's what I feel about it.

POST 9Original post

I tried hooking my multimeter up to the obd port today — didn't seem to do much on the "tacho" pin — was hoping I might get a variable voltage depending on RPM. Really need to get an oscilloscope to find out.
