I added a MOSTO (
ViseeO - Innovation and Competitive Advantage,ODM/OEM and After Market Products,Continuous Customer Relationship Building - MBU-1000,MBU-2000,ck390,ck391,Bluetooth Upgrade Kit
) BT unit to the car and the BT telephone functionality seems to be working (phone pairs and calls can be made). It looks to be very similar to TOOKI unit. The problem is I cannot get the A2DP function to work (the A2DP function works by emulating the CD changer: when you pair the phone to the Mosto unit over BT, and send the audio to the Mosto unit over bluetooth (A2DP), the Mosto unit then plays this over the fiber optic line to the PCM). I have the CD changer option set to "on" by the dealer and this is confirmed by checking TRIP+MAIN. The problem is when I press CD to get the PCM to find the CH changer (really the Mosto (A2DP)), it says "CD Changer not found" so I'm wondering if the fiber optic (MOST) loop needs to have the devices in a certain order.
Current configuration has: PCM + NAV + Mosto(BT)
I pulled the connector from the back of the PCM unit (this connector has an "out " and an "in" port, where the "out" shows an arrow pointing out the connector, and the "in" shows an arrow pointing in towards the cable, see below)
=========[ --> (out)]]
=========[ <-- (in) ]]
The way the connector path is set up is that the "out" line goes to the Mosto Unit, and then to the PCM, and then back to the "in" line.
Does it matter how the devices are ordered on the MOST loop? I don't want to disassemble (such a pain) just to move the order to "out" -> PCM -> Mosto -> "in" if order doesn't matter. The fact that the TEL function is working suggests a problem with the Mosto unit, rather than with the Loop configuration, but I thought I should check. Any tooki successful installs out there using a2dp.
Thanks for any help or if you can suggest other things to try.
Just an update....
I went ahead and swapped the loop order, and it didnt make a difference in operation. Tel still worked, but it was still indicating no CD changer.
This suggests that devices on the loop can be placed anywhere in the series, but also suggest a problem with the A2DP functionality. Oh well, I still have my FM modulator, but would have enjoyed wireless connectivity for the
iPhone
. I plan to contact the vendor to see if they have a solution.
cheers
The order of the devices on the MOST bus doesn't make any difference. The individual devices have an "address" which identifies which device they are and what communications requests they should respond to.
Just a thought, you may need to visit your dealer and have the CD Changer functionality enabled on your
PCM
. If you didn't already have a CD changer this won't be enabled. Any Dealership or good
Porsche
workshop should be able to do this with a
PIWIS
tool. I know people have to do this with
iPod
connectors that use the CD Changer functionality.
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. I did have the dealer turn on the CD changer. After more googling, I found better instructions tha what came in the box. There are 2 dip switch settings for
Porsche
: one setting turns on a2dp! It would have been nice if this was included with the unit. fYi below:
1,2,8 on =a2dp off
1,2 on = a2dp on
Were you ever able to solve the "CD Changer Not Found" error?
I have had the ViseeO MOSTO installed for a few months. I am very pleased with it thus far. I was able to install it myself in less than 30 minutes, pairing was a snap, my phone book transfer was quick, call/mic quality is excellent, A2DP sound clarity is among the best I have ever heard, steering wheel controls work as expected, etc.
However, there is one major exception: Every time I start my vehicle, I must click through the "CD Changer Not Found" error. Very annoying/tacky!
I have an 06 Carrera S, PCM 2.1 with BOSE. SW Version 3.3. I removed the Harman & Becker phone module and installed the MOSTO in it’s place, under the passenger seat. I completely removed the CD Changer and installed a new fiber optic cable with three MOST plugs (head unit, BOSE amp, navigation drive) to close the loop.
Any insight you could provide would be helpful.
Don't get back often, but the upshot is you can get your dealer to program off the cd changer with the
PWIS
tool. The viseeo doesn't need it and you'll still have tel and a2dp.
The only prob I'm having now is If you're on a2dp and make or get a call, all works fine during that call. However, if you make or get a 2nd call, it hoses out. A2dp (music) is fine but you won't be heard on the subsequent calls. At least this is what happens to me and I've read it happened to a least one other either on this or another board. Solution is to turn motor on/off.
If you're on radio, no problem making subsequent calls. I email their tech support and can't get any good help.
Prob more important to have tel, and I'll just resort back to fm modulation for audio. Shame since a2dp audio is pretty good.
I have just got this kit installed today and have the same problem. Did u find a solution as I can't call anyone after the first call whilst streaming music and can't keep turning the car on and off lol
