I'd guess then that our running costs would be a base line compared with the gts or turbo - I'd imagine they'd get driven harder so consumables will wear faster.

I thought it may have to do with the gearbox not being pdk but to have no sound or over run I thought was strange.

but I doubt any luxury car will have any cracks, over run noise or bangs.

No cracks, no over-run noise, no bangs no nothing-is this right?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What a great forum!
I’m a newbie looking for some advice on a 2013 Cayenne GTS.
Pros: V8, exhaust sound, lots of space for my three kids in the back; great combo of sport and versatility. A beautiful car to drive.
Cons: apparent engine lag down low (I’m used to turbos). I had my foot to the floor a couple of times with a noticeable delay in power…could also be my driving. There does not seem to be any exhaust noise when you change down gears in manual mode when using paddles??? No cracks, no over-run noise, no bangs no nothing-is this right?
There is very little to fault on this car but before I look at buying I’d love your feedback on the above.
Also given this is an Aussie site could anyone with a similar model advise on expected major service costs for a model with 130K kms on it? I have found a model with approx. 130K on the clock and was just wondering if their price is low enough given the costs that may be around the corner for me. Also, given I’ll put 80- 100K on it over a 5 year lease how terrible (in the scheme of things) will my resale be with 250K approx. on it? Expecting the worst here.
Thanks
?
Welcome to the forum!
Not a lot of late model Cayenne banter on here..... but I doubt any luxury car will have any cracks, over run noise or bangs. It is a big luxury car first, that goes ok. As for the lacking in power, well it does weigh over 2 tonne, but still should go very nicely with 309 kW!

Thanks ANF! I hear you I just thought with it being a gts there'd be a bit more. I thought it may have to do with the gearbox not being pdk but to have no sound or over run I thought was strange.
I'm going to have a drive of a turbo to see if that's any better but the gts as I said was amazing overall. Will definitely have a PPI done.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum. We have a similar vintage Cayenne (turbo diesel) and most times it goes in to the shop for a service (every 10 - 12k km) it's 1 - 2k ish, with the occasional bigger bill. That's without any major repairs to date (we purchased it at 50000kms and it now has 120000km) - just routine servicing and consumables such as brakes. We live in a fairly hilly area but it doesn't get punted hard, just cruises around. I'd guess then that our running costs would be a base line compared with the gts or turbo - I'd imagine they'd get driven harder so consumables will wear faster. Big components going bang will cost big dollars but that's a 'roll the dice' type scenario with any Porsche out of warranty. We've found ours to be very reliable in a fit/finish sense - no bits wearing or falling off/breaking so we're pretty happy with it.
