The spring just helps the seat come forward easier, you could use any old spring to make this work

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Following on from here: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=127564 I did this today... :thumb: Now, I am not in any way mechanically minded but I managed it  So here goes! Started with this little lot: Plan is to fit this little bad boy in: And swap for this: The bracketry: The cheat method as it's already put together: Tools required: May or may not be required... Remove rear bolts: Seat is electric so lift up as high as poss and then get it into whatever position that you want it to stay in for storage: Rear bolt: Next get these off of the front: Use the flat head to lift the 'tab': Amazingly, still not required yet: Remove front bolts: Extender needed here: Lift seat: Underneath: The electrics: Slide this little catch out: Once removed: Found a new lucky penny!!! The seats for comparison, weight/size/bracketry: I need to lose some weight LOL! So a comparison of Sport seats/Leather GT3 seat/Nomex GT3 seat: Sport seat: Leather: Nomex: Spring came off but no worries, as this just helps the seat to slide forward easier: Few pics to show that the rails are exactly the same: Seat all together as I swapped the brackets from the Leather to the Nomex: Trial fit in place: Bolt back in: Covers slide back on: TADA!!!!!!!! Still not opened a beer: Is that an alien in my car or is it just pleased to see me? I was going to do daylight shots but it was raining a little: Now it's time for Guinness... I hope that helps/helped someone out :thumb:

POST 2Original post

Fab write up Jin! However there may be an elephant (or two) in the room :hand: Or rather an elephant or two in your garage! Of course I never doubted that a gentleman such as yourself would waft around the lanes of Bedford in supreme luxury, but prey tell, what is this Roller in the stable? Any self respecting Mayoral candidate would also have another chariot for those 'essex boy' weekends... And it looks like there's a Sierra 4x4 in in there too? :dont know: Finally does my little eye spy some sort of early 90s Merc? :?: More photos and descriptions are required I'm afraid... :worship: :thumb:

POST 3Original post

Rubbish thread. Not enough pictures  I spy a Silver Seraph, a Sapphire Cosworth, and some sort of Mercedes, perhaps R129, am I close?

POST 5Original post

Great write up. You deserve a beer just for linking all the photos. That alone takes bloody ages. As said that's a great collection of 90's metal there. More pics please.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Very...but 2WD or 4x4 :dont know: Took longer than fitting the bloody things!!!!!!!! :nooo: :thumb:

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Few more: Here she is: Black/grey contrast looks good to me: Extra leg room for the boy  These 2 will be happy: Gratuitous pic...you can't NOT look back :thumb:

POST 8Original post

There'll be a re-trim coming along shortly..... :?:

POST 9Original post

Nice write up mate, I love those Recaros !! Getting in and out can sometimes be fun :thumb: I noticed that I don't have the springs on mine, will have to look into that :worship: Take it easy

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've never seen the spring on any of the bucket seats that have crossed my path :dont know: The spring just helps the seat come forward easier, you could use any old spring to make this work  I just realised that I have also saved 16kg's...make that a foot long please Mr Subway man  :thumb:

POST 12Original post

Glad I wasnt the only desperately looking at the glimpses of other cars! Seriously impressed you spotted the Merc, I had to go and take another look as I had missed that - it only appears in one shot. Jin - you look to have an amazing garage (not just the cars, I would kill for the space!)
