Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone know how/where to have a 2008 PD1 Cayman PCM system properly configured to support telephone/mail in the USA. I have tried to make the system work by placing my GSM SIM card in the tray on the front of the system but it just states: TELEPHONE UNAVAILABLE. ??? Anybody with ideas???

POST 2Original post

I may be wrong but I was under the impression you need the PCM telephone module add - on for it to work with your cell phone SIM. Not sure of the price but I had heard it is an expensive add on. You may want to check with a dealer.

POST 3Original post

You need to have the phone module added; you can do a search where I listed part numbers and the process but to have it installed at a dealer you are probably looking at around $1,200 - $2,000 for parts and labor. You can add the Tooki Bluetooth module for much cheaper, parts around $700 and under two hours of labor. Or for the same price you can get the Dension Gateway 500 and the BTA150 bluetooth module for it for both iPod and bluetooth functionality.

POST 4Original post

I am getting my car in for the 60000 km service, advised the rep that i have two problems, 1. the infamous cd not ejecting and 2. the telephone module not working, get the telephone not available with sim card in slot, but as soon as i put it back in my phone it works. I was advised that the telephone module only works in europe. I advised the rep that I have had the car going on three years now and this is just recently a problem. He sounded surprised that my phone even worked at all. If this is true why did they sell me a phone module that is not supposed to work??????
