Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
40 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
PistonHeads: 1 discussions
0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.
Not sure if it is his field, but try Rob Kellock. Search for forum username rob.kellock
He is Lancashire based, and might be able to point you in the right direction.

I think is his site.
Rob Kellock is indeed a lawyer, and often to be found in the Porsche forum, but no idea if he does motoring stuff.

PM me mate. I'm a solicitor who specialises solely in driving offences. Im in West Yorks but travel to Manchester regularly.

Whoever suggested Nick Freeman may have missed the bit about "reasonably priced"
You can say that again.... Very many £££££s required.
Extremely effective though (or he was when he helped my brother to keep his license a few years ago).

You can, I think, have over 12pts, but keep driving - you have to appeal to the judge. A friend of a friend showed me that he had 15pts, none expired, but was still able to drive to 'visit his little boy'. All a total con of course, but it worked...

Don't you have to be over 12 points to get a ban? Or is it the moment you hit 12?
It is the moment you hit 12 although exceptional hardship (more properly titled "mitigating circumstances" can be argued in order to escape disqualification as a result of totting up.
Section 35 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 provides:
(1) Where -
(a) a person is convicted of an offence to which this subsection applies, and
(b) the penalty points to be taken into account on that occasion number 12 or more,
the court must order him to be disqualified for not less than the minimum period unless the court is satisfied, having regard to all the circumstances, that there are grounds for mitigating the normal consequences of the conviction and thinks fit to order him to be disqualified for a shorter period or not to order him to be disqualified.
(2) The minimum period referred to in subsection (1) above is-
(a) six months if no previous disqualification imposed on the offender is to be taken into account, and
(b) one year if one, and two years if more than one such disqualification is to be taken into account;
[etc...]
Thanks for or the help guys managed to find Rob Kellock as you can see a fellow ph member so that's the chosen path and very resanoble unlike Mr Loophole will let you know the outcome
I have just used this guy, Marcus Johnstone, he is from Widnes so near to you. He was recommended to me by a friend who was caught apparently doing 111mph, I was accused of having gone through a red light by a following policeman and issued with an on the spot fine and three points. In my friends case, he heard no more after Marcus's intervention, in my case, I got a letter back from the police two days ago stating that after reviewing they would no longer be pursuing my case. I highly recommend him.

So this is a regular situation you get into?
It's true it is my wife ,this being the second time hence using Mr loophole in the past she drives a caynne s while I drive a 911 and I still haveva clean licence ,just goes to show dare I say it ? Women drivers !
You have my sympathy, but equally to now be on a second set of 12 points shows a complete lack of respect for the road.
Whilst we all 'have a go' sometimes and have no doubt been lucky on the odd occasion, seems your good lady may need a period off the road to reflect on her driving habits.
Sorry to sound harsh and nothing personal I assure you.
The last time was about 15 years ago so you have to cut her a little slack and her driving routes are camera city ,where mine are more leafy back waters with no cameras
I'm still impressed, 24 points is a lot of speeding fines
(I've driven over a million miles over the last 25 years and only managed 6 points for speeding and I don't hang around!)
If she still has her license in the near future, perhaps a post-it note on her dash suggesting she 'slow down near a camera' might help in future.
Or buy her a Road Angel for Christmas

That Sounds like the perfect gift ! Thank you for the suggestion
I've got one here you can have.
I guess the potential car change is in limbo for now? I've been thinking that the Cayenne may be something for me to keep for towing the race car next year...

Does having a Road Angel wired in affect a Porsche warranty?
Simply have it plugged into the lighter - job done
Having anything non-Porsche approved plugged in to the lighter will throw an ECU error code.
So any warranty claim will be voided.
Possibly.

It appears on my 997 that isn't the case. I have a speed camera detector in one lighter socket and my FM transmitter in the other without an issues, be them ECU or warranty.

If you open the front compartment and have a look to the left of the engine, you'll find a little transponder.
This relays back to PCGB everytime you pass within 50 miles of an OPC, and they'll know exactly what's been plugged into the fag lighter.
Honestly.

I know you're being tongue in cheek but I was talking to a Porsche technician last week and this is indeed what Porsche are working towards in the next few years (the workshops being able to diagnose/fix you car whilst you're at home). Big brother will be watching....

Hello. Are you still working as a solicitor specialising in motor offences?
A friend of mine is facing a tot-up ban from a number of SP-30s from fixed cameras.
He wants to plead exceptional hardship. Can you help?
He’s based in Leeds.
Thanks,
Dan.
