Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am running a 15mm spacer in the front to keep it from rubbing the strut tower but other then that there is no issues....at least that I've had.
Leading evidence: 'Run 15mm spacer in the front' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'c4' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend below' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Your valuable advice and guidance will be appreciated.

Just be sure to make the rotational difference between the front and rear less than 3% otherwise you will have issues with your transfer case when picking out tires. I just went through the hassle of putting 997 5 star wheels on my 01 C4 but well worth it as it looks SOOOOO much better. The wheel fills the wheel well so much better.
Thanks for your reply.

The rears definitely wont fit. Google an offset calculator. The stock rear wheel is 10 inches, with an offset of 65mm. Youre talking about coming in 25mm with an inch wider wheel. Thatll definitely rub.
btwchrome lip? Just, no.
I have the following sizes and all are all within tolerance (rotational F/R).
Front: 8" width rim 57 ET (but I use a 15mm spacer meaning it's really 42 ET because if you don't it will rub the strut). 235/35/19
Rear: 11" width rim 51 ET 295/30/19
My car is 2001 C4
Hope this helps
Thanks can you please recommend best fit / size of wheels front and rear for my 2000 model 996 Carrera S4 Narrow Body.
I am not an car expert and the workshop here in Bahrain doing a project on my car does not have a clear clue what sizes rims / wheels I should get ?
Pls help.
Thanks and Regards

The S4 isn't any different other then you don't have to worry about rotational sizes. In other words you can put whatever you like as long as they clear the strut & wheel well. With that said my car is a narrow body car and I like the flush"ness" of my wheels (offsets they have) What are you looking for? Wider? Flush with wheel well?
I believe a narrow bodied car is a C4, not a C4S, which is a wide body car. Two different wheel setups, mostly at the rear of the car. That said, the rolling diameter of the wheel/tire combo remains critical, keeping it at less than a 3% difference between front and rear diameters.
Also, a 19" set up will give you a somewhat harsher ride.
Porsche did NOT release an S model narrow body from the factory nor was there a C4S in MY2000. You more than likely have a C4.
Porsche also never designed the Mk1 cars to support 19x11" wheels. The fender's edges are not rolled and will cut into the tires. The widest is 10" for the rears on the narrow body cars and even then Porsche required 265mm wide tires to compensate for the lack of fender edge roll which was changed in the Mk2 996. People have made 19x11" rear wheels work on the Mk2. Heck, I had them on my 2002 Mk2 996 but they scrubbed. Awful ride qualities too. Removed them and went back to a factory 18" Turbo Twist.
My 01 C4 runs 19" with 11" in the rear and 8" in the front without issue. No cutting or rubbing. I am running a 15mm spacer in the front to keep it from rubbing the strut tower but other then that there is no issues....at least that I've had.
